Chapter 6 Trevor was extremely familiar with Emma’s voice, so he frowned as he turned around. A look of disbelief flashed across his eyes at the sight of her. The audience below the stage was just as attracted to this woman who had just come on stage with a microphone in her hand. She was a foreign face to them, but her looks were stunning and she was dressed in a red gown which exuded elegance and gracefulness. Even though many of the people in the crowd were famous female celebrities, Emma’s appearances and aura seemed to match up to their standards. One of the employees tried to stop her from going onstage, but she introduced herself to the employee in a polite and gentle tone. “I’m Emma Yates, President Bateson’s wife. I’d like to speak to him for a while,” she replied. At that moment, the crowd gasped in unison. Did she just say she’s President Bateson’s wife? Is President Bateson married? The crowd found it difficult to trust the words of the woman in red. Yet, when they saw Trevor standing still without any action to stop Emma, they figured that what she said had to be true. But if President Bateson is married, then who is Crystal to him? Is she just a mistress? The crowd was still dazed by the fact that he was married when they heard Emma continuing while maintaining her gaze on them. “I’m not going to be his wife for long, though.” Jaws were dropped as when the words did. Emma then walked over to Trevor with documents in her hands. He felt an uneasiness in his chest the moment he saw what she was holding. Emma’s gaze was calm as she spoke to him, “Let’s get a divorce, President Bateson. This is the divorce agreement that I had my lawyer to prepare. Don’t worry, it’s not going to affect any of you or the Bateson Family’s inheritance. I won’t take a single penny from you guys.” She put on a calm and elegant smile as she handed the documents to him. “Emma!” Trevor roared through gritted teeth; his voice sounded as if something flew past his face. Only when he regained his senses did he realize that she had thrown the documents directly at him. Fury was overwhelming his entire body as he felt like he was about to burst. “I hope you and your lover stay together forever, Trevor. I wish you guys all the happiness in the world.” She lifted the hem of her dress and spun around to leave after finishing her words. She had only taken a few steps before she turned around to smile at him once more. “By the way, I forgot to tell you this,Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
President Bateson. I’ll see you at the Civil Affairs Bureau at 8.30AM tomorrow. Please don’t stand me up again this time.” Subsequently, the crowd erupted with shock. Trevor narrowed his eyes to form a threatening glare as he looked at the composed and graceful woman in red. Great. I’ve been conquering this market for so many years and there has never been anyone who has the guts to shame me like this. Emma is the first; I’ve been with her for three years, yet I had no idea that she had such a dominant side to her. On top of everything, I never expected her to be so… eye- catching when she’s dressed like this. Everyone had assumed that he would lose his temper after what Emma did. They thought that he would even call the entire anniversary celebration off. However, he was calm as he ordered for the event to proceed as usual. There was not even an ounce of anger on his face as he walked off the stage, which led the crowd to be impressed. He really acts like a boss. His emotional intelligence is impressive! He can still walk off stage so calmly even after that woman threw divorce papers in his face, they thought. But Mrs. Bateson sure is a gorgeous woman. She appeared out of nowhere! She’s so cool and eye-catching. What an impression that was! After Trevor returned to his seat, Crystal turned to look at him with utmost concern. “Are you okay, Trevor?” He pressed his lips together without a word and Crystal started to complain about Emma. “Emma is so immature. How could she start such a ruckus at a place like this? Doesn’t she understand how important one’s reputation is for a man like you?!”
