“What are you talking about, Mom? There’s no way we would dare to bully Serenity when her hoyfriend’s here today. We even have to respectfully address her boyfriend as Mr. Jack!” Theresa mocked sarcastically.
Granny was surprised. “Boyfriend? Serenity has a boyfriend? quick, let me see him!”
“Okay, I’ll tell him to come in,” said Serenity. She exited the room.
Theresa said unhappily, “Mom, I wouldn’t be so happy if I were you. Serenity’s boyfriend looks like a good–for–nothing. He might even be a swindler!”
She did not wish to see her more find a good boyfriend because that would mean Serenity had one– upped her own daughter.
“Enough. Serenity is a smart child. She wouldn’t fall for sweet words that easily. I’ll see for myself if the man is really a swindler!” said Granny
Theresa pouted. After Serenity brought Jackson into the room, Grandma locked at Jackson with a smile on her face and said, ” So you’re Serenity’s boyfriend? What’s your name?
Serenity was going to introduce Jackson but he was one step ahead of her. He replied, “My name is Jack Valor, Granny. You can call me Jack”
Jackson’s tone was respectful and humble towards the elder, which surprised Serenity because she had never heard him speak with that kind of tone before
“Jack? Good, good. I’ll call you jack then Granny laughed, “Serenity is a good kid, but she’s been through a lot. Make sure you treat her well.”
“I will. She’s my one and only choice in this life. I won’t have anyone else besides her, Jackson said with a serious expression.
Serenity couldn’t help but blush slightly. She gently tugged on Jackson’s sleeve, hinting at him not to be so direct.
But Granny was even more direct. “Does that mean you intend to marry Serenity one day?”
