Chapter 60

Y.... You didn't need to send me money, Kage. Trust me, I'm fine.

"Maybe you are. But just do something to lift your emotions. Be lowered his head, contemplating. "Would you need me to arrange a little vacation for you? I know of a few good countries you'd like. Maybe you'll need the..." "It's fine," she cut him off, a small smile touching her lips. God, she she'd have loved a vacation, but she needed to stay around and see what Westley was up to. She needed to stop him.

"Thank you for the money, though."

A foolish image suddenly played in her mind. She imagined him, a few weeks from now, being married to Lana. She imagined him walking down the aisle and taking the wedding vows with her. deserved him. I him. He was a jerk, anyway.

Well,

"How are the babies? He asked.

How are

He asked.

Heat rushed to her cheeks when she found him staring at her tummy.

'T... They're fine. I checked in with the gynaecologist yesterday, and everything is still cool.

The door opened suddenly, revealing Lana who walked in with some bags. Sylvie's heart sank into her stomach instantly, her smiles fading.

"She was getting married to Kage she thought. She was the lucky one.

No,

she wasn't lucky. Sylvie had also been married to Kage, and the guy wasn't worth it. He was a total jerk.

"Hey, babe," Lana flashed him a bright smile.

He stood up, causing Sylvie to glance at the empty spot he'd once occupied.

"You left work early today. How're you?" She kissed him on the cheek.

"Tm fine."

Sylvie stood up, clutching her glass tighter now. As she took the stairs, she heard their voices, as well as Lana's chuckles.

They shouldn't mean anything to her.

Lana spent a long time in the house. It was evening when Westley texted Sylvie, asking her to step out

Knowing he was outside her place filled her with dread.

Standing before the mirror, she willed herself to stay composed. Westley wouldn't hurt her. She just needed to stick around to get the information from him.

She wore something simple and drove out of the estate to meet him. Kage wouldn't let him come into the estate, so they securities wouldn't let him through

Reaching the gates, her mind began reeling when she found him standing there, outside his car, looking like the gentleman she thought him to be. She thought of Paul's murder. How could Westley had done that? Wed, Oct 9 OOG

She sniffed, stepping out of the car and wrapping her hands around herself.

"Hey," he smiled.

"Hi," She wasn't looking at him.

Of course, how could she look him in the face when all that was written on it was murderer?

Westley observed her. "You good?"

YYeah Just a little under the weather."

taking her me. We to go somewhere."

Sylvie snatched her hand from his almost immediately. "Wh where are we going? You didn't tell me we were going out." She stuttered, looking around,

Westley found it strange. "Can't I surprise you anymore?" He arched his brows.

Oh, God, she needed to act normal. But it was so difficult.

"Okay, she whispered going into the car herself.

They drove for some minutes before Westley stopped in front of a mall. Holding her hand, he led her into a shop filled with wedding dresses. Her heart skipped a few beats. "What do you think?" Westley opened his wide smile on his face.

Sylvie had never been more confused in her life. "Wh... What's going on? What're we doing here?"

A staff walked up to them. "Good evening, sir. Good evening, ma'am. We're glad to have you here today. I can gladly show you around to our best outfits." Sylvie went closer to him. "Wes, what're we doing here?" She asked in a husky whisper.

"Give us a moment, please," He signaled the staff who nodded and left.

He turned back to Sylvie. "What does it look like, love? We're wedding shopping. I figured....we should start securing your wedding dress already." Sylvie escoffed, wondering if it was a dream or something.

"Is this a a joke?" Her

"Yes! Because I can't remember having this agreement with you."

He shrugged. "Well... I already told you about it"

you I'd think of it.

"So, how long do you plan on thinking of it, Sylvie? You make it look like you don't wanna do this at all! Tell me, Sylvie what's so wrong with getting married to me? Why the reluctance Huh?" She touched the back of her neck, looking away.

Westley got hold of her hand. "Listen, I love you, and that is all that matters. Come on, Sylvie, let's do this together. Please?"

She withdrew her hand from his. I'm sorry, but I really can't do this. Not now."

She w

walked of the shop. By the time she reached the car, Westley was with her.

"Sylvie..."

"Til just take a cab home."

"Sylvie, come on!"

Π

He stood in front of her. "Fine! I'm..... I'm sorry, okay? I thought this would be a nice distraction. I should've asked. Can we put this behind us, please?"

He touched her face, tenderly. Sylvie closed her eyes, forcing herself not to push his hands away.

Just take me home."

Kage had just stepped out of the shower, wet and in his towel. Lana was in the kitchen, fixing a quick meal.

There was a message on his phone, and when he checked, he was surprised to see it was from a strange number.

And It was a photo of Sylvie and Westley together, standing in a wedding shop.

His heart cracked at the sight for odd reasons.

He stared at the image for a long time and only snapped back to reality when Lana walked in with a plate of cereal. He dropped the phone..

"You good?" She noticed his fallen mood.

But he said nothing as he turned away, going into his closet.

Kage was standing at the balcony when Sylvie got home. She was alone now, and walked out of the car with her head down as though, she hadn't just gone wedding shopping with her fiance He didn't understand why it made him feel that way. It shouldn't be his business if she was saying the wedding vows already. Maybe he just hated that it was Westley. He really didn't want the son of a b***h anywhere near her..
