Chapter 2219
Maybe it's because Freya wanted to vent and this just so happened to be the perfect outlet for her.Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
But we're adults, after all. We shouldn't act so recklessly.
"Forget it, Freya. You'd only bring trouble to yourself and the Moore Family if you do this!" I hugged her tighter, unwilling to let go.
Freya was tired from all the struggling. She let out a helpless sigh and gradually calmed down.
"Don't worry," she said, rolling her eyes.
"I won't let you go unless you promise not to attack her!"
Freya felt hopeless and then said impatiently, "I promise."
"Are you satisfied now?"
Only then did I loosen my grip a little, still slightly cautious.
Freya did as she said. She began to tidy up her clothes as soon as got free and didn't look at Andrea anymore. "I'll spare you this time."
Freya always did as she pleased. By saying this, she proved that I still mattered to her.
Although I couldn't laugh out loud, I forced the corners of my mouth upwards and said with a wry smile, "I know, Freya!"
Andrea had just escaped a disaster but she still didn't know how to restrain herself. She tried to stir up trouble again. "What's wrong? Are you afraid? Isn't the Moore Family the rulers of Jarold City? Aren't you the only daughter of the Moore Family? Don't you have the guts to stand up for yourself? Or do the members of your own family think so little of you, that you can only grin and bear it from your bullies?"
"I've just remembered something. Freya, you're just an illegitimate child that your parents hate. You're no better than me!"
Freya's face fell. Her eyes looked colder than before. Compared to how she was earlier, instead of annoyance, she now seemed filled with hatred. What difference was there between annoyance and hatred?
If you didn't like someone, you could ignore or complain about that person. At most, you would teach them a lesson, but you wouldn't take that person seriously.
But if you held a grudge against them, you would want to skin your enemy alive and tear them to pieces. Andrea was the best example of this. Andrea was a brainless woman. She exaggerated about everything and she often gave herself away easily. Anyone could escape from her schemes. She was very different from Freya. Freya was someone who succeeded in the upper circles of the capital all by herself.
After offending her, Andrea would never live a peaceful life ever again.
Andrea laughed brazenly as her face scrunched up. "No matter how high and mighty you are, you're no different than those country bumpkins who can't keep their men satisfied. I've died once before. What haven't I experienced? You have no right to teach me anything!"
She was spouting even more unpleasantries. Every word she uttered hit Freya's sore spot and I couldn't bear it any longer. I glared at her fiercely and snarled, "Shut up!"
"Who do you think you are?" I turned sideways to stand in front of Freya, just like how she had defended me countless times before. "You say that the Club is yours, but it will only officially be yours after Anne returns. Even so, from the club's location to its renovations, the Roberts Group paid for every penny. To put it bluntly, this is the property of the Roberts Group. I can take it back any time I please!"
Andrea hadn't expected me to say this. She wanted to refute me, but I didn't give her the chance to. "I am only allowing you to manage the club temporarily on Anne's behalf Did you think this arrangement would last forever? I will take it back soon enough. But if you push us too far, I will smash this place into a million pieces. I would rather give it away for free than let you get what you want!"
I felt much better after saying that.
When dealing with a scoundrel like her, you had to bite back hard.
Seeing that Andrea had been rendered speechless, I lowered my eyes and said, "Apologize."
"What did you say?"
I raised my voice and said slowly, "I told you to apologize to Freya! Now!"
"No way!" Andrea turned her face away. "You want me to apologize to her? In your dreams!"
"Okay." I sneered then said, "Then well see if the men behind you have the patience to wait until your next life to return to run this club." As I said this, I ordered the staff to lock the doors. "Everyone, get moving. Pack up your things! We're taking a long vacation!" Since they didn't have to deal with these thugs anymore, all the employees rejoiced and relaxed. They moved about as they said, "Noted!" Andrea became anxious. She knew very well who she relied on to get this far. She couldn't afford to offend the people supporting her. She stamped her foot and compromised. "I'm sorry!"
