My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup

Chapter 1823 The Fetter

Even though Micah said it, he wasn't upset.

After getting their food, Micah and Sally found a corner to sit down and have breakfast.

Micah ate in a very disciplined manner, without talking.

However, he swung his legs happily under the table.

Sally sneakily took a photo of him and sent it to the group chat with Athena and Evie.

Evie quickly responded: [He's so cute, as if straight out of a comic book.]

Sally replied: [He is Micah, the little monk I told you about.]

Evie had recently become a mother, and her overflowing maternal love was evident as she quickly

replied with an emoticon showing teary eyes. [He's adorable. If his parents were still around, they

would definitely dote on him immensely!]

When Sally read the message, she glanced at Micah unconsciously.

"What's wrong? Do I have something on my face?" Micah asked.

Sally shook her head and continued chatting with Evie for a while.

Today was the middle of the month and a Monday, which meant that Athena was most likely in a

remote video meeting.

Chelsea Investment Company was currently in talks for a large-scale acquisition, and Athena had to be

present to formulate strategies.

After breakfast, Micah still had a lot of things to do.

Sally didn't disturb him and instead found a quiet, well-lit spot that avoided direct sunlight.

There, she methodically began to review the accounts for the shops over the past half month.

The accounts were numerous and intricate, and she lost track of time once she delved into them.

By the time Elijah woke up, it was already noon.

A monk was reading a scripture in the room.

Seeing that there was a monk, Elijah could tell that Sally wasn't there.

Although she appeared carefree, she had a strong sense of politeness and discipline ingrained in her.

It made sense for her not to be around him.

Though the monastery was vast, finding Sally was easy for Elijah.

She disliked dim places, avoided direct sunlight, and preferred to be away from crowds.

Additionally, she would find a place where he could find her conveniently.

Leaving the yard, Elijah took a circuitous route and traversed a secluded path seldom used by others.

Soon, he arrived at a shaded spot beneath towering trees, where he discovered Sally engrossed in her

accounting with her thumb pressed between her teeth.

Elijah had been to the church since childhood.

He firmly believed in past lives, karma, and fate.

He was utterly convinced that he and Sally shared profound ties over countless lifetimes.

Perhaps, they were once a single entity that had fragmented after enduring various trials, evolving into

two separate yet incomplete souls.

Only through the cycles of rebirth could they reunite, regain one another, and finally become whole

again in both body and soul.

This belief was why Sally's mere presence had such a healing effect on him.

Even if it was just her presence, it could extinguish the unfounded anxieties that arose within him.

Just as she was feeling frustrated, she lifted her head and caught sight of Elijah.

Instantly, the worry lines on her face disappeared, replaced by a soft, smiling expression.

Elijah also approached with a smile. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"How did you know I was here?" Sally tilted her head to look at Elijah, asking in a tender tone.

Elijah gently caressed her cheek. "I'll always find you wherever you are."

As she spoke, she stood up and took Elijah's hand. "Come on. Let's go to the dining hall!"

Elijah didn't move and gently pulled Sally back.

Sally stumbled slightly but steadied herself by gripping onto Elijah's waist.

"What's wrong?"
