Chapter 1819 Self-Blame

Elijah shook his head.

The hope in Brett's eyes collapsed once again.

"Father's vitality has almost faded completely, and my medicine can only delay the inevitable."

Brett lowered his gaze, silent.

"I see. Please write the prescription," he spoke with a heavy tone after a while.

Elijah walked over to the table where Adonis transcribed scriptures.

The writing materials on the table were arranged just like before.

Elijah had initially copied the scriptures by standing on a small stool and working on this table.

Elijah quickly finished writing the prescription.

It contained several medicines that weren't readily available on the market.

Elijah made a phone call, arranging for someone to fly overnight from Dunlop City to deliver the

medicines.

Brett didn't dare to delay.

He went out personally at night and collected the medicines according to the prescription provided by

Elijah.

When it was dawn, the medicines Elijah requested had also been gathered and brought to the church.

Elijah divided the medicines and handed them over to Brett. "I will come over every day to perform

acupuncture on Father."

"Thank you." Brett nodded gently.

After a moment of silence, he added, "I shouldn't be so stubborn, but I..."

He just didn't want to be separated from Adonis in life and death.

The thought of facing the future without Adonis made Brett feel anxious and lost.

"I understand." Elijah patted Brett's shoulder gently.

Brett glanced at him and instantly felt a sense of relief. "You didn't get any sleep last night. Go rest for a

while."

"Okay."

Elijah nodded.

He glanced at the tightly closed door of the meditation room and then left Adonis' yard.

Elijah didn't go to rest but waited along the path Sally would pass when leaving her yard.

After a short while, Sally emerged from the yard, walking alongside the other monks with a dazed look.

"Mr. Patterson, waiting for your wife so early in the morning?" a monk joked.

Elijah was interesting, appearing ethereal and otherworldly.

Yet, he was clingy to his wife.

Wherever his wife was, he would follow.

"Elijah, what brings you here?" As soon as Sally heard the monk call Elijah, she snapped back to

attention and immediately trotted towards him.

With just a glance, Sally could tell that something was wrong.

Elijah was wearing a T-shirt and pants that he would wear to sleep. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

He was dainty and would never wear sleepwear out.

Also...

Elijah hadn't had the time to pay attention to what he was wearing after such a tough night.

"No wonder I feel a bit uncomfortable on the back of my foot..." Elijah glanced at the shoe on his right

foot, which was slightly smaller. Updаted at Drамanоvels.cом

Elijah was in a bad mood the whole night, immersing in a cycle of self-blame.

Sally held Elijah's cold hand.

Elijah felt his chaotic state was soothed a lot instantly.

He felt like a ship lost in turbulent waters that had finally returned to the safe harbor.
