Chapter 17
Chapter 17
Sandra and Levy were escorted into a private room, oblivious to the events that had unfolded outside. Unbeknownst to them, the Smith family
had been banned from entering any Brovard properties due to their disrespectful behavior.
Meanwhile, Sandra's mother, Matilda, happened to be at the same branch and overheard the insults hurled at her daughter and herself by the
Smith family. Consumed by anger, she promptly ordered the manager and her personal assistant to enforce a ban on the Smith family from all
of her properties.
Matilda had endured the Smith family's mistreatment while living with them, but now that she had chosen to live independently, she refused to
tolerate any further disrespect. Though she acknowledged her past failures as a mother and her inability to protect her daughter, she was
determined to shield Sandra's properties and uphold her dignity at all costs.
The sight of Levy's handsomeness and the aura of distinction surrounding him intrigued Matilda. This led her to question the rumors about the
Anthony family losing their wealth and vanishing from the wealthy circles. She was aware of another Anthony family residing in the capital,
shrouded in mystery, particularly regarding the head of the family. Matilda couldn't fathom the complete disappearance of the Anthony family,
especially if the elder generation was still alive. She sensed that there was more to the story that she didn't yet comprehend.
Concerned for her daughter's well-being and wanting to spare her from any potential family drama or issues, Matilda decided to investigate
the Anthony family further. She understood that her young and innocent daughter wouldn't be equipped to handle complex family matters.
Little did she know, Sandra's name alone struck fear in the hearts of many in Country N. Sandra was not only a ruthless businesswoman but
also the leader of the infamous and merciless Sedate organization, making her a formidable force in the country.
Sandra and Levy settled into their seats, and the waiter presented them with menus. Levy asked Sandra to choose her meal, and she replied, NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
"I'm not a picky eater. As long as the food is good, I have no problem."
Levy then instructed the waiter to bring them their special meal, as they were celebrating their first day of marriage. Sandra chuckled and
remarked, "Do you really need to tell the waiter all of that?" Levy looked at her, slightly puzzled, and asked, "Tell the waiter what?"
"That we are celebrating our first day of marriage," Sandra clarified. Levy looked at her and responded, "Well, I didn't expect my wife to have
such a sharp tongue. It's quite different from what people say about you."
Sandra smiled, realizing that he was trying to change the subject by making a lighthearted comment. She decided to go along with it and said,
"Well, I also didn't expect my husband to be so different from the rumors."
Levy laughed, realizing that he had been laughing quite a lot today. It was a new feeling for him, as if his heart had skipped a beat for
someone for the first time. He wondered if this was what they called love at first sight. He agreed that Sandra was a beautiful woman who
could easily captivate any man's attention. However, he had seen many beauties in his life who hadn't made an impact on him.
But with Sandra, it was different. Just one look from her and he felt a profound connection he had never experienced before. He felt that she
was the missing piece in his life, and being with her made him feel complete in a way he couldn't quite describe.
Levy's intense gaze made Sandra feel a bit self-conscious, and she couldn't help but ask him, "Mr. Levy, is there something on my face?
You've been looking at me for quite a while."
His focus broken, Levy returned to the present moment and replied, "Sandra, I know this marriage was not of our own choosing. To be honest,
I never had any plans to get married in this lifetime, and I didn't really care who I married."
"But after meeting you today, something changed in me. I feel that we should give this marriage a chance and work on making it successful.
In the end, we have nothing to lose, as I've already mentioned that there is no divorce in this marriage, only widowhood."
Sandra looked at him for a few moments, trying to process his words. It was the first time someone had expressed a genuine willingness to
spend their entire life with her. Initially, she had thought he was joking, but now she sensed that he might actually mean what he said.
Since she was young, Sandra had never envisioned herself being in a relationship, let alone getting married. The marriage was merely a means
to grant her family freedom, and she had no idea they were capable of achieving it without her assistance.
After discovering her parents' true identities, Sandra had felt obligated to honor her promise. She had gone with the flow, confident in her own
abilities to handle any challenges that might arise from this marriage. She hadn't given it much thought beyond that.
Even when she had first met Levy at the civil affairs bureau, she had been taken aback by his handsome appearance, but it had been nothing
more than a passing surprise.
Now, hearing Levy express his willingness to spend the rest of his life with her and urging her to give their marriage a chance, Sandra felt
deeply touched. The walls she had built around her heart began to crumble, and for the first time, she allowed herself to entertain the
possibility of a genuine connection in this arranged marriage.
As Sandra listened to Levy's sincere words, she couldn't help but feel that maybe this was a chance given to her by a higher power—a chance
to truly live. Despite having everything—money, fame, status, and power—she had always felt a void, a lack of purpose.
Returning to her family hadn't filled that void as she had hoped, but now, after meeting Levy Anthony, a man she hardly knew, her heart
seemed to be awakening on its own. Looking into Levy's eyes, she found herself speaking honestly, sharing her innermost thoughts.
"To be honest with you, I never envisioned myself getting married to anyone in this lifetime," Sandra admitted. "I always believed I would be
alone, and that was okay. The only reason I accepted this marriage was for the sake of my parents, to grant them their freedom."
"And since I never saw myself entering into a marriage, I agreed to the proposal without much thought. But now, I find myself questioning
whether we should give this marriage a genuine try. There is so much we don't know about each other, and trust is the foundation of a
successful marriage."
She paused for a moment, contemplating her own words and the potential path ahead. The prospect of allowing herself to open up to someone,
to trust and be trusted, was both daunting and enticing. The walls she had built around her heart were beginning to crumble, replaced by a
flicker of hope that perhaps there was more to this arranged marriage than she had initially thought.
