My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley)

Chapter 297

Chapter 297

With a perplexed expression, William pushed his glasses up his nose and addressed Liliane in a gentle

voice. “Currently, you and Mr. Anstey are still considered father and daughter. If something were to

happen to you, your parents would be the first inheritors of your assets.’

Upon hearing William’s explanation, Liliane pondered for a moment and inquired, “Wouldn’t the court

usually attempt mediation in such cases?”

“Mediation is typically attempted, but given the other party’s strong stance as indicated by the writ, I

believe there is no possibility of mediation.”

Taking a deep breath, Liliane rubbed her throbbing temples and graciously told William, “In that case, I

will consider it first. Meanwhile, you should actively explore the possibility of mediation with the court.

Although I have no blood relation with him, I have regarded him as my father all these years, so I am

unwilling and hesitant to confront him in court.”

“Ms. Anstey, I will do my best to gauge their thoughts.”

Liliane replied softly and delicately, “Thank you for your efforts.”

As William left the hospital room, he couldn’t help but internally criticize the entire situation. With years

of experience as a lawyer, he had some understanding of the parties’ perspectives.

His client was unwilling to let go of the assets she had received. The other party seemed to have the

same intent, which likely led them to resort to legal procedures.

In truth, William felt sympathy for Billy. He had raised the girl for decades only to discover she was not

his biological daughter, and now it seemed that the other party was determined to acquire his wealth.

William was a father himself, and to him, money and assets held little importance. What mattered most

was that Billy had been deceived all these years. Who could tolerate such deceit?

However, he was merely a lawyer, bound by the law, and his duty was to seek the maximum

benefit for his client.

Alone in the hospital room, Liliane glanced at the phone number and took a deep breath. before slowly

dialing.

“Hello, Ms. Anstey.”

The voice on the other end of the line was magnetic, reminiscent of a late-night radio host- deep,

resonant, and comforting.

Subconsciously, Liliane absentmindedly traced the words “kill him” on the table with her hand.

“May I know who I am speaking to?”

“Ms. Anstey, have you made up your mind?”

It took only a moment for Liliane to come to a decision. In order to eliminate all future troubles, she

wanted Billy dead.

Initially, she had believed that her father would at least have some affection for her, but upon receiving

the court summons, she realized that she held less significance to him than his wealth.

He knew about her heart condition and inability to handle stress, yet he still resorted to such means to

pressure her. If he didn’t care about her as a father, she wouldn’t hesitate to disregard any father-

daughter relationship.

“Yes, I want him dead.”

Liliane had complete faith in the person on the other end of the line.

Five years ago, without the evidence he had provided, Esther might not have spent five years in prison,

maintaining her innocence.

Liliane didn’t know the specifics of what he had done, but she was certain that she would be safe if he

took action.

“Congratulations, Ms. Anstey.” NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Liliane inquired, “What do you have in mind? Or rather, what do you want me to do?”

“I need you to meet with Mr. Anstey and personally send him on his final journey.” The man’s voice

carried a captivating power. “I will take care of the rest.”
