My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley)

Chapter 280

Chapter 280

“Mr. Anstey.” Clark noticed Billy’s disheveled appearance and asked gently, “You seem to be in a poor

state. Should I call an ambulance for you?”

Billy shook his head wearily and whispered, “Clark, can I see Esther?”

Considering Esther in the bedroom and Bradley’s stubbornness, Clark sighed deeply, feeling utterly

powerless. “After Mr. Felix’s accident, Mr. Bradley hasn’t been in a great mood. If you insist on seeing

Madam, I can allow you in, but please prepare yourself mentally.”

“Thank you.”

Clark opened the bedroom door and informed Billy, who stood at the doorway, “She’s inside.”

Billy wiped his face with his hand and entered the bedroom with heavy steps.

The scene inside the bedroom completely shocked him!

He never imagined that Bradley would treat Esther like this.

Esther was wearing pajamas, lying flat on the luxurious and soft bed. There were visible signs of injury

on her delicate face.

However, that was not the main concern. The focus was on the iron chain tied around her right wrist,

with one end attached to a dazzling crystal chandelier.

“Esther!”

Billy never fathomed that Bradley, who had always exuded elegance and composure, had this side to

him.

Upon hearing Billy’s voice, Esther mechanically turned her dull eyes toward him and asked indifferently,

“Do you need something from me?”

“How can Bradley treat you like this?” Billy erupted in anger. “How can he treat you like-”

‘An animal.’ He stopped himself from completing the sentence.

Esther curiously inquired, “Then, can you take me away from here?”

Billy gritted his teeth and nodded firmly. “I’ll take you away!”

Esther had been entrusted to his care by Faye. Though he had not treated her as his own, had never

subjected her to such treatment either.

“Really?”

Billy approached Esther, carefully examining the iron chain bound to her hand to confirm that it was not

some high-tech device. He reassured her confidently, “Esther, don’t worry, I’ll definitely save you.” Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Even if he had nothing else, even if he had to risk his own life, he would not allow her to continue living

like this.

“There’s a small black pin on the dressing table. Can you bring it to me?”

Billy went to the dressing table, found the pin, and handed it to Esther. She sat up and used it to pin her

hair away from her forehead.

As she moved, the iron chain made a clattering sound, causing the crystal chandelier to shake violently

as well.

“Esther, I’m sorry! I have failed the trust your mother placed in me!” Billy couldn’t bear it any longer and

apologized, anguish covering his face.

It was his fault.

If he had not taken on so much responsibility and had been honest from the beginning, admitting that

he couldn’t handle it, Faye would have entrusted Esther to someone else.

If he had protected Esther as a father after bringing her back to the Ansteys, she wouldn’t have

suffered so much despite Leah’s malice, as long as he was there to protect her.

“You don’t need to apologize. We may not share a blood relationship, but I’m grateful you’ve given me

shelter.” Esther’s full face was revealed after pinning her bangs up. With the chandelier’s light shining

upon her, it felt as if a dreamy glow enveloped her. “Thank you for bringing me back to the Ansteys and

fulfilling my mother’s last wish.”
