My Husband Wants Me Dead (Esther and Bradley)

Chapter 268

Chapter 268

“Mrs. Warner, please understand. You and I are both mothers. As mothers, we are willing to sacrifice

our own lives for the well-being of our children. If… If you truly believe in a life for a life, then take mine.

I beg you, spare my son,” Jessica pleaded with an anguished expression on her well-maintained face.

Her hands were clasped together in a humble plea to Esther. “Mrs. Warner, I can fully comprehend

your feelings and empathize with your anger. But please… Please consider this for a moment. Ever

since I became pregnant with him, I’ve aspired to be a good mother. I have raised my son well, and he

has excelled in his endeavors. Recently, his teachers even mentioned the possibility of him being

admitted to Capitellum University. Mrs. Warner, I may be halfway to the grave, but my son-he deserves

a bright future.”

Esther looked at Jessica, a fellow mother, but turned her head away, unable to bear the situation. She

knew deep down that the woman before her was innocent, but… wasn’t her own son, Felix, innocent

too?

A cool sea breeze gently tousled Esther’s long hair as she covered her mouth and coughed softly.

“Son, remember what I told you. Always be kind and upright. I love you, forever,” Jessica said, looking

at Ben with teary eyes and a gentle, tender smile. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Ben silently shed tears.

He now understood. He realized that his father was not the exemplary figure he had believed him to be.

He comprehended that his father had committed something outrageous against a stranger.

He just didn’t understand why his father had taught him to be good and kind while failing to exemplify

those qualities himself.

Jessica slowly stood up and walked toward Shane, raising her hand and delivering a fierce slap across

his face. “Shane Hoyer, let’s get a divorce!”

Shane looked at Jessica in astonishment, but she remained unfazed and coldly declared, “I don’t want

my son to have a father like you.”

Shane sensed something amiss, but before he could fully grasp the situation, he saw Jessica turn

around and sprint to the deck.

Bradley, Esther, Kevin, Clark, and others tried to stop her, but they were a step too late.

With the unwavering determination to exchange one life for another, Jessica jumped into the sea,

creating a tremendous splash.

The slightly salty seawater splashed on Ben’s face, still carrying a hint of innocence as he struggled in

the air, consumed by fear and panic.

‘Mom! Mom! Mom!

‘Mom, don’t do something foolish!’

Fortunately, there were already rescue teams in the area searching for Felix. Within a minute of Jessica

jumping into the sea, the nearby rescue personnel pulled her up from the depths.

At that moment, Kevin deeply understood the saying, ‘A woman may appear weak but becomes strong

when she becomes a mother.’

Bradley looked at Jessica with a dark and unreadable expression, then glanced at Esther. As Jessica

was being pulled up, Esther quickly wrapped a towel around her.

Jessica waved her hand, rejecting Esther’s kindness. “Mrs. Warner, don’t save me.”

She would be willing to die if her death could guarantee her son’s safety.

Esther thought of Shane’s betrayal and deceit. She couldn’t help but question the woman’s actions

before her. “Is it worth it for such a man? Did you think we would let you go after you jumped into the

sea? Have you considered the worst possible outcome? Even if you die, he will continue to live

carefree and at ease! He might even find a stepmother to mistreat your son…”
