Chapter 635 The Heavy Heart
The text was from an unknown number.
After a few seconds, before Faye could figure it out, the strange number sent a second text which said,
"I'm just kidding. Don't take it seriously."
Seeing that text, Faye raised her eyebrows lightly.
He was just kidding?
Faye stared at the phone for a while before she turned to look at Colin.
Colin closed his eyes and slept soundly. She couldn't see any difference in his expression.
Faye stared at Colin for about half a minute. Then, she moved her fingertips across the phone screen
and deleted the few texts from that unfamiliar number.
On the next day.
When Faye got up, Colin was already having his breakfast downstairs.
Faye went downstairs after washing up. Colin raised his head when he heard the noise, smiled fondly,
and said, "You're awake?"
Faye tapped her fingertips on the handrail of the stairs and said, "Um."
Seeing that Faye was approaching him, Colin put a bowl of cereal in front of her. Then, he stretched
out his hand to tuck her hair from her cheek to the back of her ear, and pinched Faye's earlobe
affectionately, "You don't seem well rested."
Faye replied with a very light "um". Then, she picked up the spoon, stirred inside the bowl, and said, "I
had a nightmare."
Colin responded, "Take a day off if you are tired." NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
Faye brought a mouthful of cereals into her mouth and said, "I can't. There has been a lot of work in the
PR department recently."
Colin laughed and said, "You're so hardworking."
Faye smiled and didn't answer.
After having breakfast, Colin left first.
As soon as Colin left, Faye put down the spoon and turned to look at Cindy, who was busy in the
kitchen. She asked, "Cindy, what time do Lance and the others usually have their breakfast?"
Cindy stopped what she was doing and answered, "It's usually nine o'clock."
After that, Cindy added, "But there was only Emmett who ate alone this morning. Lance and Andy
weren't there."
Faye reached out, took out a tissue to wipe her mouth, and said, "Um."
Cindy looked at Faye across the kitchen and couldn't see read her expression. She swallowed hard
and thought to herself, "Did I say something wrong?"
When Cindy was doubting herself, Faye raised her lips and smiled at her, "I'll leave you alone."
After that, Faye got up and left.
Cindy was speechless.
Watching Faye leave, Cindy twitched the corners of her mouth. She took out her mobile phone and
sent a text to Carlotta saying, "Ms. Kemp, when are you coming back?"
Carlotta replied in seconds, "What's wrong?"
Cindy wanted to find someone to talk to, but she didn't have the guts to gossip. So, she bit the bullet
and replied, "It's nothing. I just miss you."
Carlotta: [I'll be back in two days.]
Cindy: [Let me know in advance. I will cook your favorite dishes.]
Carlotta: [Okay. Thank you, Cindy.]
Cindy looked at Carlotta's text for a while. Then, she put her phone in her pocket, sighed, and said to
herself, "It's hard to be a helper these days. It's even harder to be a helper who is smart and
discerning..."
On the other hand, Colin had frowned ever since he got into the car.
Robert looked at him in the rearview mirror and asked, "Mr. Farrell, you didn't seem to sleep well last
night?"
Colin put down his hands, raised his eyes, and looked at Robert in the rearview mirror. He didn't say
anything, but his eyes were already speaking on his behalf, "Don't you know why?"
When Robert saw that, he touched the tip of his nose with his hand. After that, he stopped talking and
focused on driving.
Colin said coldly, "Robert, do you think that I am a joke?"
Robert replied, "No. Absolutely not."
Colin responded, "Oh."
Robert was speechless.
But he thought to himself, "I shouldn't have said anything."
The car was moving at a constant speed, and inside the car was very quiet.
When Robert was thinking about playing some light music to break the deadlock, Colin's mobile phone
in his pocket suddenly rang.
Colin stretched his legs, took out his mobile phone, and glanced at the screen. It was Ethan's number
on it. He picked up the call and answered, "Hello, Ethan."
Ethan's tone was cold, "Where are you?"
Colin sounded lazy and said, "On my way to the office. What's wrong?"
Ethan's voice was as cold as ice. He said, "Turn around and go to my law firm instead."
Colin frowned and asked, "What happened?"
Ethan explained, "Hugh plans to leave Cocanel today. In order to stop you from stopping him, he sends
Lance to intercept you. He asks someone to do something on Lance's car and there are flammable
objects..."
