Many things had happened in the Farrell family recently and Tiffany's psychological line of defense had
actually collapsed.
Though her life in the Farrell family seemed to be peaceful on the surface, the truth was that she was
besieged on all sides.
Jake had seen this through and therefore, he directly shifted the topic onto Faye.
He was gambling that Faye was the knot that was buried in Tiffany's heart and that Tiffany, who had
been under great pressure, would lay down her guard and choose to tell her story in the face of his
"kindness and care".
He was right.
Tiffany fell into his trap.
Jake wasn't in a hurry to answer Tiffany's question because it would lack sincerity if he replied to the
question quickly.
He pretended to be pondered for a while and then said flatly, "It depends on what mistake that person
has made."
Tiffany pressed her lips and asked, "What about a murder?"
Jake faked being dumbfounded and asked, "What?"
Tiffany leaned back against the sofa, took a deep breath, and asked, "Jake, will you come back after
leaving Cocanel?"
Jake answered, "Nope."
Tiffany opened her eyes and continued, "I once killed a person."
Tiffany had a strong sense of self-defense. Even though she had prepared to tell her story to Jake now,
her gaze toward the latter was still filled with examination and wariness.
Jake looked into Tiffany's eyes. After being stunned for several seconds, he stood up and locked the
door of the therapy room from the inside.
When Jake sat down before Tiffany again, the latter suddenly asked with a smile, "Do you think a
murder can be forgiven?"
Jake replied, "Even if it can't be forgiven, you'll feel better after saying it out."
Tiffany pressed her lips. After a long while, she nodded and said, "Yep. I will feel better after saying it
out."
She kept silent for a while after saying those words and then incoherently told Jake about her past.
She started with how innocent and joyful she was when she married Blaine.
And then she told him how desolate she felt when she learned that the one Blaine loved was not her.
She told him that she was so naive to believe that Old Mr. Farrell really regarded her as his biological
daughter.
She told him that she felt so resentful when she learned that Old Mr. Farrell was her enemy.
She told him many things. In the end, she mentioned Shepard.
Tiffany said, "He was the butler of the Farrell family at that time and my first paramour. Originally, I
thought he really liked me, but later I found out that it was a trap set by Old Mr. Farrell."
Jake chimed in timely, "So, you killed him in a fit of anger, right?"
Tiffany shook her head and said, "Nah. It's a strange combination of coincidence. In the beginning, I
didn't know that he was arranged by Old Mr. Farrell to approach me. I only learned about the truth after
he died in a car accident."
Jake asked, "Then why did you kill him back then?"
Tiffany said sarcastically, "He did a thing that made me unhappy."
Jake was lost for words.
The room fell into silence when Tiffany finished those words.
Tiffany looked at Jake with a smile and asked, "Are you afraid?"
Jake replied calmly and smilingly, "Nah."
Tiffany moved her lips and continued, "Rest assured. I will only be cruel to my paramours. As for other
people, I'm very tolerant of them."
Jake shifted the topic as he said, "Did you kill him by yourself?"
Tiffany replied, "Nope. I hired two people to kill him. How would I do such a thing in person?"
Jake replied, "Then you must trust the two killers very much. They've been keeping it a secret over the
years."
Tiffany said with a mocking smile, "They have died. Only dead people can keep their mouths shut."
Jake pretended to be shocked and asked, "Did you kill them too?"
Tiffany suddenly realized something. She said with a frown, "Jake, you're very talkative today."
Jake replied calmly, "I'm sorry. I was too curious."
Tiffany had known Jake for many years. Therefore, though she felt uncomfortable with Jake's words,
she didn't doubt anything. She simply continued, "Human beings die in pursuit of wealth, and birds die
in pursuit of food. They should have expected this result when they chose to do this thing in the very
beginning."
Jake chimed in, "It's true."
Faye who was in the next room saw the scenes in the therapy room clearly.
When Tiffany finished the last sentence, a hint of turbulent emotions flashed across Jake's eyes. But it
disappeared the next moment.
Faye spotted this and felt sorry for Jake.
The person that Jake loved for years sounded as insignificant as an ant in Tiffany's words. He even
didn't qualify to have a name.
How upset Jake would be when he heard those words?
Tiffany talked to Jake for two hours and told him all her secrets which had been accumulated in her
heart for years.
By the end of their conversation, Tiffany took out a check from a purse and handed it to Jake, saying,
"Fill in the amount by yourself and then leave Cocanel together with my secrets. Don't come back
again."
Jake didn't refuse it and thanked her, "Thank you, Ms. Shaw."
Jake took the check from Tiffany and then sent her off.
After getting into the car, Tiffany bid farewell to Jake with a smile.
As the car slowly moved on the road, Tiffany's smile gradually disappeared. She took out her phone
from her pocket and sent out a message: Kill Jake.
