My Bestfriend Slipped Inside Me (An Alpha’s Secret)

Chapter 89

Xade's pov

The bleeding had subsided after day three and I am finally able to get off the bed. Xaden, despite him still being angry with me, still took care of me while I was down.

I stepped out of the room, heading for the living room. It's evening now and I know Avery must already be at her dorms. Hopefully, she wasn't out because I missed seeing her for those three days which was torturous enough.

Xaden catches sight of me instantly, and he frowns. "You should be resting."

Kaylee is sitting crossed leg on the sofa opposite his, nervously playing with a pillow while looking at the animated movie playing on the screen. She doesn't talk much. And I don't think Xaden has gotten anywhere with her.

"I need to see her," I grumble. Walking toward the door.

"You just got better, wait a day or two," Xaden grumbled. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

"Too long," I grunt, putting on my shoes.

"You know, you're still not supposed to be anywhere near her." Xaden pointed out and stood up, catching Kaylee's eyes and causing her to flush.

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he was getting to her after all.

"I didn't want to tell you yet until you got better but Henry visited yesterday after you knocked out." He makes his way around the couch toward me. "He told me V has been visiting the gym you workout in. That means he knows your every move Xade. You have to be careful."

I stiffened. Henry was a damn shadow. My fucking shadow. "I'm keeping his dirty secret for him, he'd not say a word to Alister. Besides, I am not crossing the line with Avery. We just talked. Nothing happened."

"And you agreed to train her," Xaden hissed under his breath. "You know why I haven't told father about this mess you've created for yourself but so help me God if you worsen things, I'll kill you myself."

I straightened and glared. "I have it under control." I snarled. "A few training sessions won't hurt anyone and I'll talk to Henry about it." I looked over at Kaylee who squirms. "A secret for a secret right?" I asked sarcastically making Xaden's jaw clench.

Xaden agreed to keep his mouth shut because I threatened to tell Alister about Kaylee. It was a meaningless threat that I didn't mean at all, but it worked and he agreed to not tell father anything.

I admit I felt dirty for using this against him but I would risk anything for Avery.

"You have it under control?" He snorted, staring at me in pain and disappointment. "Have you not seen yourself in the mirror Xade? You're literally a walking corpse. You're a mess."

I ignored his words, reaching for my

car keys. "I'll be back," I said over my shoulder as I walked out.

I had to see her. I'm sure she's mad that I had stood her up. I had to explain. Even though I would have to tweak the truth a little bit.

Avery's pov

He's standing right there.

I must be going mad officially.

Because there's no way Xade is

standing right there staring into my soul so deeply. The air instantly felt charged around us.

"V" he breathed out, his eyes warming as his tensed shoulders loosen as though he was relieved to see me.

I instantly notice the dark circles under his eyes and the way his hair was wild as if he had just woken up from a deep slumber. His skin was rather more pale too. He looked unwell and very tired.

But even so, he was still so handsome.

My brows furrowed. The tip of his lips quirks slightly. "Aren't you going to let me in?" He tilted his head in a teasing way, eyes twinkling despite the shadow of exhaustion swimming in them.

I shook my head, looking away from him and behind instead. I am supposed to be mad at him, furious and here I am....one look and I am completely surrendering to his spell. How does he weaken me so much?

"How did you know my dorm-

"I asked around," he replied amused. "It really wasn't that hard to find."

I felt stupid because of course, he'd ask around. I chewed on my lip. "Well, I don't know why you're here but hopefully to explain why you stood me up."

He pushed his arm out and his hand pressed against the doorframe as he leaned in, so close that I could smell him. My insides warm. "That's what I am planning to do love," his lips quirk again into a smirk. "So aren't you going to let me in or not?"

Love.

That name made a tingle race down my spine and I shuddered and hid it by coughing and then pushing the rest of the donut, which was not much, in my mouth.

"Sorry," I said while chewing very unladylike. "Boys in our dorms are strictly forbidden. And I'm sure you can say your excuses right here perfectly-

He lift his hand to my lips, his finger dragging along my bottom lip to the side of my mouth. I gasped, my lips parting when he draw that very same finger to his lips, opened and sucked.

I gaped at him, my heart slamming hard while butterflies flew their wild wings up my ribcage. He closed his eyes while he sucked that finger into his mouth, letting out a moan while he does so. My eyes pinned on his pink lips around his finger and I swallowed.

Something clenches between my legs and as if knowing exactly where my thoughts had gone, his eyes snap open. Blue meets my gaze.

"Sorry, what were you saying? I got a little bit distracted." He hummed, as his eyes return to my lips.
