Chapter 1762
Chapter 1762
John’s eyes brightened with joy. He said, “It seems like the storm is not stopping anytime soon.”
Sherry furrowed her brows.
It was raining cats and dogs outside, and she had no idea where John lived, so it would be dangerous for him to go back now. Irritated, she said, “Then, you can stay here for the night.”
John curled his lips. Even Caprice giggled out of delight.
Sherry added, “The couch is yours.”
She only had one room in her apartment, and there was no way she would let the man sleep on the same bed.
John smiled and said, “Of course.”
Caprice squealed happily, “Yay! Caprice can finally sleep with Daddy!” It had been a while since the girl slept with her father. Sherry was instantly rendered speechless.
John said, “Why don’t you guys take the bed and | can sleep on the floor?”
Sherry glared at him. “No way!”
Right after Sherry bathed Caprice, the girl ran out to John.
Sherry came out with a blanket. She said to Caprice, who was dozing off in John’s arms, “You guys can take the bed. I'll take the couch.”
She would never let her precious baby girl sleep on the couch. She sat down on the couch, but John pursed his lips. Caprice grumbled, “Why is Mommy sleeping on the couch?”
The bed in the room was big enough to sleep three.
Sherry simply came up with an excuse and said, “Your Daddy snores. | can’t sleep with him.”
Caprice could barely keep her eyes open, but she complained almost instinctively, “Daddy doesn’t snore. Mommy snores.” Sherry was speechless.
John curled his lips. He said, “Caprice, Mommy doesn’t want to disturb us with her snoring.”This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
Caprice simply hummed a reply and closed her eyes.
Sherry glared at John.
John smiled at her. “I'll bring Caprice in.”
Sherry lay down on the couch without answering.
The living room soon returned to silence except for the howling wind, the thrumming rain, and rumbling thunder outside. It was dark. Sherry somehow felt afraid of being alone in the living room. The lights were left on, and she hid under the blanket on the couch.
She only started to doze off when the thunder stopped.
At the same time, the bedroom door opened and the man came out. He walked to the couch, squatted down, and looked at her quiet face. He whispered, “Sherry, Caprice is asleep. You can go in now.”
The only answer he got was the rain and wind outside. She was fast asleep.
He smiled. He stroked her cheek and called her name, “Sherry?”
Sherry’s quiet face looked much more adorable than her usual cold look.
He gulped nervously. He lowered himself further and locked lips with her.
Her lips were soft and felt good. It was so enchanting that he wanted the kiss to last forever, but his sanity pulled him back. If the kiss woke her up, he would not just get two punches in his face, but she might even throw him out of the house.
He had gone through a lot to finally stay in the house for the night. He could not let his efforts go to vain. He got up after a few light kisses. Then, he carried her up from the couch and got into the bedroom. Caprice was sleeping on the bed with her limbs spread eagle.
He put Sherry by Caprice’s side, tucked them in, and went out. He switched off the lights and slept on the couch that Sherry slept on earlier.
The next day, the ringing alarm woke Sherry up.
