Chapter 1746
Chapter 1746
Chapter 1746 Lisa dragged Sherry into a rather inconspicuous sedan instead of the usual luxurious car she liked to be driven around in. They were quite some distance from the suburbs.
Sherry reached for her phone and dialed Caprice’s number. She had given Caprice a smartwatch suitable for children several days ago so that she could directly contact Caprice, effectively bypassing John as the middleman.
It only rang twice before Caprice picked up. She answered the phone cheerfully, “Hello”. Sherry lit up the moment she heard Caprice’s voice. “Caprice, it’s Mommy.” Caprice’s voice raised several pitches the moment she recognized her mother’s voice. “Mommy! Are you coming back already?”
“Mommy has something to do. I’m going out with Grandma Lisa and probably will be home later than usual. Make sure you eat dinner with Daddy, alright?”
“Okay.” Although Caprice was slightly saddened to hear this, she did not make a fuss about it.
Sherry smooched into the phone receiver.
As Caprice mimicked her and smooched, the pair of mother and daughter shared an intimate moment over the phone. After exchanging some small talk, Sherry hung up. She turned around to see Lisa smiling at her tenderly.
“Caprice is adorable.” She expressed with a sigh, “I wonder if | will ever have a cute granddaughter like her in the future.” Sherry smiled and assured her, “I’m sure you will.”
Lisa observed her for a moment, then she took a deep breath. “I sure hope so.”
Inside the hotel opposite the apartment building where Sherry lived, in a penthouse suite, the man was sitting on a couch positioned adjacent to the bed with a newspaper in his hand. He was browsing through the finance section.
Caprice w huddled next to him, having just wrapped up her call with her mother.
“Daddy, Mommy says she will be home later than usual tonight,” she announced as she turned to John.
John smiled, “Alright, Daddy heard you two on the phone.”
Caprice leaned against him and muttered, “I wonder what Mommy is doing with Grandma Lisa.”
She reached for a bowl of snacks and began munching.
John smiled silently.
They were going to see some action. What else?
On the outskirts of Coastrock was a cluster of villas. These were not the most premium residence
available in the city region; it was merely an above-average selection.
The surroundings were posh enough but nothing to write home about either. It was most certainly not the first choice for the wealthiest members of the city.
Lisa somehow got her hands on an access card and managed to drive through the main entrance of the district along with Sherry. After making a couple of turns, they found themselves at a
lakeside villa.
They parked underneath the shade of trees.
There was a row of cars parked in front of their car. Each of these cars was worth well in the range of one to two million. They wagered the cars belonged to the owner of the villa as well as some of the staff operating inside.
Sherry wanted to step out of the car but Lisa quickly stopped her.
Lisa informed her patiently, “Just stay in the car. We don’t have to go out.” Sherry gestured ‘okay’, then she inched next to the window and stared outside. Boom!
Aloud and piercing thunder boomed across the sky. What followed afterward was an immediate downpour, and the landscape was transformed in an instant.
Despite the heavy rain, they still had a good view of what was going on outside. Soon, Sherry spotted see a familiar car driving toward them.
If her memory served her correctly, it was Ron’s car. NôvelDrama.Org © content.
