Master Odell’s Secret Ex-wife

Chapter 1731

Chapter 1731

John stood outside the door, looking at her side profile, and asked softly, “Feeling better?”

“Yeah,” Sherry replied and limped inside.

“You're hurt. I'll wash Caprice up instead.”

The man then strode into her room before her and picked Caprice, who had woken up, off the bed to go to the bathroom. Sherry pursed her lips in silence.

Awhile later, Caprice came out in fresh new clothes.

John was behind the girl and was looking at the woman with a soft gaze. “Let's go have breakfast. Caprice wants to go to her favorite sandwich joint.”

Sherry simply hummed a reply. They arrived at the sandwich joint and had a simple breakfast.

After breakfast, Sherry kissed Caprice on the cheek and said softly, “Caprice, Mommy is going to work. Be a good girl and stay with Daddy. I’ll come back when I’m done, okay?”

Caprice protruded her lips and kissed her on the cheek as well. She answered meekly. “Okay.”

Sherry smiled and passed the girl to John.

John held Caprice in his arms and looked at Sherry “Go, I'll wait for your good news at home with Caprice.” Sherry’s eyes flickered. “Mm-hmm.” She got into the carNôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

A few traffic lights and turns later, she arrived at the Sager’s company. Since her leg was hurt, she had to limp her way inside the lobby.

As soon as she stepped into the lobby, she ran into Aiden.

In his expensive suit, he looked like a rich man’s dog who exuded arrogance. He widened his eyes when he saw Sherry. Shocked, he asked, “Ms. Fowler, what happened to you? Why are you limping?”

If he did not have the gloating smile on his face, he might have sounded more sincere. Sherry glared at him and continued limping forward.

Aiden trailed her like the dog that he was. He saw the light bruise on her face and added, “What happened to your face? Did someone hit you?”

He raised his voice as he went on as though he was afraid that others could not hear him. His voice unsurprisingly attracted passers-by’s attention, and they turned their heads to Sherry.

Sherry furrowed her brows coldly and glared at Aiden.

Aiden feigned a ‘caring” look and continued, “Ms. Fowler, what happened to you? It has just been a day since | saw you, and you are crippled and you have a bruise on your face. Did you get beaten up?” As soon as his words subsided, more passers-by paused and looked at Sherry curiously.

Forced to stop, Sherry looked at the annoying man and said coldly, “Yeah. | was beaten up.”

Aiden looked shocked. He did not expect Sherry to remain calm and acknowledge it brazenly. He added, “Who did it? And why?” Sherry looked into his eyes and said, “Some thugs. | don’t know why they beat me up, but I’ve lodged a police report.” Aiden’s eyes flickered.

The thugs that he hired informed him last night that they had slapped her on the face and wanted to do more but were forced to leave when her men brought backup. He assumed Sherry knew it was him and wanted to scare him off by saying that she had lodged a police report

Aiden regained his gloating smile and asked, “Did the police catch them?” Sherry said, “Not yet.”

Aiden sighed. “Why did some thugs beat you without a reason? You've devoted your time to helping the company, and | have never seen you offending anyone.”

Sherry remained quiet and watched the man’s performance. Soon, he switched the topic and added, “Ms. Fowler, is it because you always frequent nightclubs and get into trouble there?” He was obviously trying to paint her private life as messy and filthy

As soon as his words subsided, the passers-by looked at Sherry with mixed feelings. Those who were with Aiden even wore scornful grins on their faces.
