Chapter 17 Where Is Your Husband

"Please stay away from me." When I was distracted, I heard the man's cold voice.

All of a sudden, it was like a basin of cold water pouring down on my head. I felt my whole body was quivering. Finally, I came back to reality. I quickly walked

to my chair opposite and sat down.

"Yes, President. This is my design." I looked at the sketches and said in a clear voice.

His eyes darkened and continued to say coldly, "Tell me its design principle, concept and basis."

I understood. The interview was about to begin!

But this was my design draft and my most skilled one. It was not difficult for me.

I told him clearly about the concept of the combination of the garden and the view of nature, and looked at him calmly and confidently.

He touched Cassie’s face and asked, "Where is your resume?" This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

"I just handed it over to the chief interviewer." I answered softly, but my eyes were fixed on his face. Yes, he was the man who was chased by gangsters in the

alley that night. I recognized him, but did he recognize us two?

I looked into his eyes with inquiry. His eyes were as cold as water, without any temperature nor emotion.

Obviously, I thought too much!

Yes, I had dressed up a little today. I was far different from the woman who was sad and dejected that night!

Thinking of his words "I remember you", I smiled bitterly.

For rich people, this might just be an impulse! I didn't have to flatter myself!

He picked up the phone and ordered. After hanging up the phone, he looked at me and asked, "You bring the child to the interview, and what about your

husband?"

"Husband?" When I heard this word, I felt cold all over my body. Thinking of the hypocritical Ron standing beside Sherry outside, I felt angry and dizzy. So I

immediately answered, "He’s dead. He was struck by lightning."

When his eyes fell on my face and then on my body, the corners of his mouth moved, but he didn't say anything.

The door opened and a man who looked like an assistant came in. When he came in, I was standing aside. Randal was holding Cassie in his arms, and she

was playing toys in his arms, giggling. His eyes were fixed on me.

The assistant was obviously stunned by this scene. There was a trace of surprise on his face. He immediately handed over a resume with both hands and

respectfully said, "President, the resume of Miss Mary."

The assistant turned around and left.

"Widow." He looked through my resume and stared at the column of "spouse".

I bit my lips tightly and wanted to kill that bastard in my heart. These days, the “spouse”column of my resume was all written with the word "Widow ".

"Your name is Mary?" He raised his head to look at me again. This time, his eyes stared at me coldly as if they were digging a hole in my body. I could

guarantee that he had been looking at me for a few minutes.

I wanted to ask "President, did you recognize me? I was the one who saved you that night."

I really hoped he could hire me, because this job was too important to me. Not only could I make money, but also I had the chance to destroy that bad man.

But when I looked at his cold eyes, I finally didn't have the courage to say anything. I thought he would remember something if he could say my name.

However, I was a little disappointed. There was no expression on his face, and the light in his eyes was emotionless, even strange.

I lowered my head.
