Love’ss 65
Chapter 65
On the other end of the line, Grace let out a sigh of relief as Madelyn’s reassuring tone came through. “I’m glad to hear that. Just let me know if you need anything.”
Madelyn hummed softly in acknowledgment.
Grace continued to offer her advice. Honestly, she was also worried about Andrew. It had been years since she had seen him so happy, especially in recent days.
Ten minutes later, they wrapped the call. Just as they did, an unknown number came in. Worried it might be an emergency, Madelyn answered.
Just as Madelyn was about to ask the caller to call back in five minutes, Natalie’s voice came through. “Andrew, I’m sorry. I acted impulsively tonight. Easton said Madelyn was upset earlier. Should I talk to her to explain things?”
Did Natalie intentionally mention Easton to Andrew? Everyone from the Miller family knew Madelyn had once hoped Easton would take her abroad. Madelyn realized Natalie and Elena were alike. They
pretended to be generous and kind while quietly undermining others with hypocritical remarks.
“Andrew, are you there?” Natalie’s voice tightened over the phone as silence met her. Deep down, she still feared Andrew’s anger. He was the only Miller family member she could count on.
Madelyn smirked. Echoing Natalie’s tone, she shot back, “Don’t worry, Natalie. I haven’t misunderstood a thing. But Andrew is still your cousin. Your actions tonight could stain his reputation if word were to get around.”
began breathing unevenly. Even though they weren’t in the same. room, Madelyn could sense Natalie’s guilt. Only someone with something to hide would react like that.
Just as Madelyn was about to end the call, Natalie asked with restrained hostility, “You and Andrew are getting divorced, aren’t you?”
Madelyn narrowed her eyes sharply. Now, she understood why. Athena had come to loathe Natalle. She sneered, “Andrew and I aren’t. getting divorced, and he wouldn’t be yours even if we were. If you don’t want to lose everything you have, stay away from him.”
With that, Madelyn abruptly ended the call.
Andrew returned to find Madelyn slamming his phone onto the coffee. table. His brow twitched involuntarily. He approached, setting down what he was carrying, and asked, “Darling, what’s going on?”
After placing down his things, he picked up his phone from the coffee table. Madelyn turned away, seething with anger and refusing to meet his gaze.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Andrew noticed two calls had come through just now–one from
Grace and the other from Natalie. It was obvious Natalie’s call had upset Madelyn. He promptly returned Natalie’s call.
Natalie answered his call quickly, assuming it was Madelyn calling to flaunt before her. Without niceties, she taunted directly, “Who do you think you are to Andrew? Everyone in the Miller family knows about you and Easton. You have some nerve to keep clinging to Andrew like this. You’re truly shameless!”
Her smug and confrontational tone sparked Andrew’s simmering anger. He never imagined Natalie, who was usually reserved and distant in public would reveal such an unappealing side.
Natalie continued, “And I suppose you’re not aware, are you? Andrew actually set up Starlight Entertainment specifically for me.”

Although the phone’s speaker wasn’t loud, Madelyn heard every word distinctly.
Andrew looked at Madelyn’s reddened eyes and stated into the phone, “You’re no longer associated with Starlight Entertainment. Leonard will handle the termination details with you.”
“Andrew?” Natalie’s arrogant tone instantly vanished upon hearing his voice. She was shocked and panicked. The prompt return call had led her to believe it was Madelyn calling
“Please hear me out, Andrew. I–It was Madelyn who insulted me first,” Natalie said, her tone shifting from defiance to hurt.
However, Andrew refused to listen any further and abruptly ended the call.
The atmosphere seemed unusually cold under the harsh glare of the living room lights. Madelyn kept her head down, her expression hidden from Andrew. It left him unable to discern her thoughts. Her, silence only heightened Andrew’s unease.
It dawned on him that he had made a mistake. Before, when Madelyn didn’t pay him any mind, he didn’t care about the true nature of other people.
