Redmption 178

“What happened?” Chris‘ cold and authoritative voice sounded. NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

It didn’t sound like he was here to play coy with me. It was a total transformation from earlier.

Despite being shaken to his core, the head of security swiftly made his way to report the situation.

After listening to the story, Chris‘ gaze landed on Brandon. “So, is this all caused by your private matters, Mr. Howell?” I knew Chris was about to make things hard for Brandon.

Seeing that Brandon did not respond, Chris revealed a mocking smile. “Well, Mr. Howell?”

“That’s right,” Brandon admitted.

Chris picked up the broken pieces on the ground and asked, “How do you think we should resolve this, Mr. Howell?”

“How do you want to resolve this, Mr. Gildon?” Brandon did not catch Chris‘ meaning.

I stayed silent, knowing whatever I said would only worsen things. If it weren’t for me, Chris wouldn’t make this trivial matter a bigger deal. Had I not been in the picture, he would even defend Brandon, given his personality.

After all, the punks were blatantly causing havoc within Gildon Corporation’s property. It would have meant an open provocation toward Chris if they stepped out of line today.

Discarding the broken pieces, Chris dusted off the dirt in his hand. “Since you have private matters to resolve, I believe you should prioritize that. As for your work, let Mr. Conrad take over.”

At that, I was taken aback by his instruction–Chris wanted to fire Brandon!

Now that the lighting work was in its final stage, there was nothing much around to do. In other words, it wouldn’t pose an effect even if Brandon was not participating in the project. That was equivalent to an overkill!

Suddenly, my suspicion that Chris was the mastermind behind those punks earlier resurfaced. It conveniently gave him a reason to fire Brandon.

“I’m not your employee, Mr. Gildon, so you have no right to determine my employment status.” Brandon stood his ground.

Chris laughed mockingly. “Is that so? Why don’t we see if that’s true?” He fished out his phone saying that. I knew he was about to call Brandon’s supervisor.

I stepped forward. ‘Mr. Gildon, don’t you think we should look into this matter more before we rush to a decision? Plus.. I paused briefly, then continued, “Although the lighting work is in its final stage, which can be completed without Brandon, the finishing product may not be as expected. Don’t you think so?” Coincidentally, Conrad arrived at the scene just as I finished speaking. He looked like he had heard about the incident and came in a hurry.

He looked at me first, so I took the chance to ask, “Mr. Conrad, Mr. Chris wants to fire Mr. Howell, leaving the post–adjustments to your supervision. Do you think you can handle it?”

I deliberately put him on the spot, knowing for a fact that he would be on my side. Frankly, that was rather selfish of me.

Conrad glanced at me and quickly understood my intention. Then, he looked at Chris. “The final Installation still requires a comprehensive inspection It’s best if Mr. Howell can stay till the end of the

project.”

Instantly, Chris‘ expression turned grim. He looked at Conrad with fury, baffled as to why his brother was not on his side.

Still, Chris had made up his mind and did not plan to give in. He shot his brother a cold glare and ordered. in an authoritative tone, “If you insist on him staying, I’m afraid the amusement park will be shredded to pieces before your final inspection, Mr. Conrad.”
