Redmption 112
Redmption 112
Lisa shouted, “Then, you were too soft on him! You should have split that bastard’s head open like a melon!
“He wouldn’t touch you when you were his wife, but now, he wants to force himself on you! You’ve done nothing wrong by smashing his head!”
Lisa’s ranting bore no trace of the professionalism of the cold but amazing
obstetrician. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
I explained, “He’s just a typical jealous and insecure man. He always thought I couldn’t bear to leave him. Now that he realizes I’m not playing his games anymore, he’s getting frustrated.”
Lisa agreed and added, “He’s realizing far too late that he loves you so much to the point where he can’t bear the thought of you being with other men.”
Was that so?
To stop me and Brandon from working together, he first assigned Conrad, then/ Jewel, to work with me. Because of that, I couldn’t even finish my work at the amusement park.
However, Brandon promised me that he would complete the project.
“Maddie, remember this. Every time Chris messes with you again, punch him! Once he gets scared, he won’t do such things again,” Lisa instructed me..
“Okay,” I agreed.
Someone called for Lisa. Before she hung up, she said, “I’ll check on him in a while to see if he died from blood loss.”
I chuckled, but then, a wave of sadness washed over me.
After a while, I got out of the car. When my neighbors saw me return, they greeted me, “Miss, why are you back all by yourself? Where’s your boyfriend?”
When I remembered how the neighborhood ladies gave Brandon their unsolicited advice, I laughed. “Why? Is it time to clean our corridors again?”
They chuckled. “No, no! We just think that the young guy is not bad. He’s handsome and hard– working. You should cherish him.”
“Alright.”
I went upstairs. However, I was taken aback when I reached the top of the stairs. The door opposite my unit was wide open, and someone was throwing things out.
No one had ever stayed there since I moved in. Now that their belongings were also blocking my door, I could only walk in and ask, “Are you moving houses?”
A middle–aged woman looked at me. “You are…”
I pointed to my unit. “I live there.”
me,”
She instantly understood. “I’m so sorry. I rented out this unit. The tenant asked me to tidy it up a bit, hence the mess. Let me rearrange the stuff so you can
enter your house.”
I thanked her and then looked around the unit. It was much more run–down
than mine. If it were me, I wouldn’t even want to rent it. The tenant was probably not in the best financial condition.
“Ma’am, can I know whether this tenant is male or female?” As I was going to be their neighbor, I wanted to know.
“It’s a man. Quite a handsome young man!” She finished clearing the path to my door.
A man?
For some reason, I felt a little uncomfortable. After all, it still felt a little unsafe to have a strange man as a neighbor.
However, I had no say in this matter. After I thanked the woman, I went inside my house and plopped on the couch immediately. My thoughts were all jumbled up as I looked up at the ceiling. I also felt exhausted.
Although I didn’t struggle too much while fighting with Chris, I felt completely drained. I shut my eyes, trying not to think about it, but my thoughts became messier.
Finally, I opened my eyes and got up to cook something in the kitchen. Only then could I distract myself.
I was making potato soup when my phone rang. It was from Conrad.
“Maddie, come back to the amusement park now. Nobody can fire you.”
“Conrad, I’ve submitted my resignation letter,” I said calmly.
Before I left the amusement park, I really felt the project would fail without me. Even if it succeeded, it wouldn’t be up to my standards. However, now that I
left, I felt nothing.
This feeling was like when I let go of Chris.
