Love Redux: Fated to the Handsome Doctor

Part 46 # News Sources

According to her promise to Carol, Mahya began searching for the contact of the rising star doctor. She went to the hospital where the doctor practiced and asked the receptionist to escort her to the handsome doctor.

“Sorry, Dr. Andre is very busy. You can contact the PR team for an interview,” said the female receptionist who received Mahya’s request.

“No, I must meet Dr. Andre in person,” Mahya firmly refused. She forgot how to sweet-talk to win over her sources. Mahya was used to acting on her own, especially because she was used to dealing with data and … criminals!

“Sorry, Miss! Not possible!”

In line with Mahya’s firmness, the receptionist also did the same. Their auras even radiated red, as if silently launching an attack on each other. Mahya was relentless.

“At least, give me his phone number!”

“Dr. Andre’s phone number is confidential!”

“What?!”

A verbal duel then ensued, neither of them willing to back down. The commotion caught the attention of Dr. Miriam who happened to pass by.This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

“What’s going on here? What happened?” she asked, puzzled.

“Uh … doctor,” the receptionist nodded.

“Hello, I’m Mahya Grace from Channel Insight. I want to get an interview with Dr. Andre. Is that possible?” Mahya asked directly.

Dr. Miriam smiled. A reporter’s visit to the hospital was actually a rare opportunity. Moreover, the reporter’s visit was not to corner the institution but as a form of appreciation.

“Can you come to my office?” Dr. Miriam asked with her gentle smile.

Mahya nodded, casting a cynical look at the receptionist. This emotional battle ended with Mahya’s victory. The girl flashed her arrogant smile.

“This way,” Dr. Miriam guided Mahya to prevent her from getting lost as they walked to her office.

Shortly after, they arrived at the doctor’s office on the second floor of the hospital.

Dr. Miriam opened the door to her room and invited Mahya in. The room felt peaceful with soft colors and a pleasant fragrance. Mahya immediately sat in the chair provided by the doctor, while the doctor herself sat in the opposite chair.

“So, what brings you here, Mahya Grace?” Dr. Miriam asked, looking at Mahya attentively.

Mahya began to explain her good intentions to write an article about Dr. Andre and his achievements in the medical field. She emphasized that her goal was to appreciate the rising doctor. Dr. Miriam listened with a friendly smile.

“I’m glad to see your interest in the medical world, Mahya. Dr. Andre is an extraordinary professional, and I believe this interview can be an inspiration to many people,” Dr. Miriam said.

“One more thing, is … Dr. Andre already married?” Mahya asked without hesitation.

Dr. Miriam swallowed, unsure how to answer.

“Excuse me, may I know why you’re asking?” she asked again.

Mahya laughed. “Many women are crazy about him. Of course, information like this is very important to them,” she joked with a wide smile.

Dr. Miriam looked uncomfortable. “Dr. Andre is already engaged,” she replied. She could see that Mahya’s expression turned serious in an instant.

“Oh, is that so?” she replied afterwards. Mahya didn’t really care about her source’s marital status, but … for some reason, she was very interested in Dr. Andre. Undeniably, the doctor’s beauty and mysterious aura invited everything that everyone wanted to know. Including Mahya.

“So, when do you want to do the interview?” Dr. Miriam asked. She felt a sudden awkwardness creeping into their conversation.

Mahya cleared her throat before answering. “Ah, maybe, in two days, how about that? I know if the doctor’s schedule is very busy. However, this section is a weekly section that needs to be aired soon.”

“Hm, two days later, huh? Alright. I’ll try my best. I’ll contact you once I have Dr. Andre’s schedule,” Dr. Miriam said with a smile.

Mahya nodded. But there was one thing bothering her. How did Dr. Miriam seem to know everything about Dr. Andre?

“Excuse me, doctor. Could you be … the hospital’s PR manager?” Mahya asked, albeit late. She should have asked for this position since their first conversation. Strangely, Mahya got carried away and chatted so deeply without knowing the origin of the informant.

“Oh, no …,” Dr. Miriam answered, blushing.

“Ah, then … how do you know about Dr. Andre’s schedule and make decisions? Isn’t that supposed to be decided structurally? For example, by the doctor’s superior?” Mahya investigated.

Mahya worried that her meeting today would not yield anything. She didn’t even know if Dr. Miriam was just a colleague or a doctor who didn’t personally know Dr. Andre.

Dr. Miriam replied, “Oh, coincidentally, I am the owner’s daughter of this hospital.”

“Wow!” Mahya finally nodded happily. “Thank you for your time and assistance, daughter of the owner!” Mahya exclaimed, extending her hand.

“Ah, and … I am Dr. Andre’s fiancee, Miriam Copper.”

At that moment, Mahya’s eyes widened. She accepted the handshake from the beautiful doctor in front of her with a heart full of question marks. How could Dr. Andre be surrounded by so much mystery and luck? Even, he was engaged to the hospital owner’s daughter, where he worked.

“That’s it, huh! Ready. Please help.”

Since Mahya’s departure to Andromeda Hospital, Carol had been anxiously looking for her friend who hadn’t returned yet. She was very curious about Mahya’s findings. Personally, Carol also had a special interest in their target who would become their source.

After waiting for some time, Mahya’s car finally arrived from the highway. Carol could see it from the office roof, which was without barriers, allowing her to peek down below.

Knowing that Mahya’s car had entered the parking lot, Carol quickly threw away her cigarette butt. With agility, she ran to the parking lot floor and welcomed Mahya with joy.

“Hey, how was it, Mahya? How was your meeting with Dr. Andre?” she asked enthusiastically.

Mahya got out of the car with a gloomy face. A heavy breath accompanied the whispered answer she gave. “Not successful.”

“Huh? What do you mean?” Carol was puzzled.

“I just talked to someone who schedules interviews,” Mahya said, looking straight at her friend and editor.

“Then?”

“Then … well, we’ll meet in two days. Whether it can happen or not. I still don’t know.”

“Ah! So that’s it ….”

“And the most important news is ….”

“Yes?!” Carol couldn’t wait to hear the continuation of Mahya’s sentence.

“Dr. Andre is already engaged.”

“What!”

The faces of the two single women looked sad. “Indeed, it’s sad, isn’t it?”

“Ugh! Very!”

“And even more surprising, his fiancee is Dr. Miriam Copper, the daughter of the hospital owner where Dr. Andre works,” Mahya revealed, feeling even more gloomy.

Carol widened her eyes. “Seriously? There’s no hope ….”

“Yeah. There’s no hope ….”

“Well, let’s just smoke, friend. Maybe, our soulmates haven’t come yet,” Carol offered a pack of cigarettes to Mahya. The girl accepted it with slightly faded enthusiasm, unlike usual. Another handsome and charming single man had been taken. Perhaps, Carol’s words were true.

“Oh, God! Please give a soulmate to me and my friend!”
