Chapter 18 You Will See It One Day
If Clarissa had to guess, Damien was probably bringing his grandfather over to live with him. After all,
leaving an old man all by himself in Florin could be rather worrisome. If Damien’s grandfather was
coming over, there had to be at least a wedding photo in his home.
Did that also mean Clarissa had to move in with Damien?
On Saturday, Clarissa followed the address Damien gave her and went to a large photography studio.
Damien was already there.
Clarissa changed into a bridal dress. The size was a good fit. She could not help but think about the
stare Damien gave her. He memorized her measurements with just a glance. His accuracy was quite
impressive.
When she came out, Damien seemed to be taken aback. Words like “in the prime of her youth”,
“graceful figure”, and “beautiful face” were not enough to describe Clarissa. The pearl necklace on her
chest accentuated her collarbone. She really looked young and bright.
Seeing Clarissa in a white bridal dress, the words, ‘I’ll hold your hand and grow old with you.’ popped
into Damien’s head.
To hell with that!
Damien’s gaze did not linger on Clarissa for long. He continued talking to the photographer, but it
looked as if he was in a daze.
Clarissa noticed Damien’s outfit too. He was wearing a black suit and looked incredibly handsome. She
could not even look at him directly.
For most people, one entire day might not be enough to take pictures. However, Damien and Clarissa
were done within an hour.
After changing her clothes, Clarissa carried her backpack and said excitedly, “President Lawrence, can
you send me the wedding pictures when they’re done?”
Damien was rolling his sleeves. He replied expressionlessly, “Are you looking forward to it?”
“Yes.” Clarissa’s eyes were bright.
“Don’t worry. You’ll see it one day. We’re not going to my grandfather’s house today. You’re free to do
whatever you want. I’ll inform you about our next outing.”
Damien sounded like he was giving out orders to his subordinate.
Clarissa tried not to make it look apparent that she missed him. She smiled and said, “It just so
happens that I registered for my certified public accountant online lessons a few days ago. They told
me that I needed to work out some things at their center. I’m going to get that done.”
Damien got into his car and left without uttering a single word.
Clarissa felt awkward and disappointed. It was embarrassing how she talked so much and he did not
even respond.
It seemed like she would not be seeing him for some time.
In the evening, Clarissa went to Riverside Building to settle her online lessons. NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Clarissa had always been a quick learner. She passed the first four papers just by self-studying.
However, she was recently occupied with work. Due to that, she spent eighteen thousand dollars and
registered for a lesson that supposedly guarantees a pass. Apparently, the educators used to be
famous top achievers.
The class started at three o’clock. A young and handsome man stepped onto the rostrum.
Upon seeing him, the female students said collectively, “Wow!”
The man wrote “Joseph Moore” on the blackboard. He said, “This is my name. You can address me as
Mr. Moore. We’ll be starting our lesson now.”
Clarissa frowned slightly. Joseph Moore? Was it a coincidence?
Mr. Moore had passed four papers in one go and obtained the certified public accountant certificate. He
was basically a legend. Moreover, he was clearly very skillful and his lesson was easy to understand.
The request on Instagram was most likely a coincidence. Besides, they were not acquainted before
this.
Soon, the class ended. Clarissa walked out of Riverside Building and saw her brother in a car. He was
waiting by the roadside.
She asked, “What are you doing here?”
Luke poked his head out and said, “Oh, it seems like my little sister is rich enough to afford lessons.
How did you get so much money? The doctor also told me that you’re hiring a caregiver for mom.”
“I got a permanent position.” Clarissa hoped this answer was sufficient and the topic would change.
“You’re loaded now, right? When are you going to treat your brother?”
Clarissa did not want to talk to Luke. Just as she was about to leave, she heard his voice again but the
tone had completely changed.
“Young Master Moore, please get into the car.”
Clarissa turned her head and saw Joseph Moore.
“Miss Johnson?” Joseph noticed and recognized her. After all, she was in his class earlier.
Luke chimed in, “Do you know my sister, Young Master Moore? Haha. What a coincidence.”
He stared at Clarissa and Joseph with a shifty expression.
“Hi, Mr. Moore.”
Clarissa said politely and bowed to Joseph.
Joseph replied, “You should get into the car too, Clarissa,”
“Yes, listen to Young Master Moore. Hurry up and stop being shy.”
As Luke said that, he pushed his sister into the car.
Clarissa and Joseph sat in the backseat.
Luke asked happily from the driver’s seat, “Young Master Moore, have you followed my sister on
Instagram?”
“Oh, I requested to follow her before but she didn’t respond.”
Joseph added, “When I was taking attendance earlier, I thought it was another person with the same
name. I didn’t think much of it. Let’s exchange contacts now. Is that okay, Clarissa?”
“Okay.” Clarissa slowly took out her phone. Then, she showed Joseph her QR code so he could obtain
her contact.
Joseph’s Whatsapp name was also his real name. Clarissa did not add any other remarks to his
contact.
