Chapter 30 Heart disease
I was stunned: “My father… No, what does my father have to do with you?”
She sneered, “Go back and ask him if he remembers a woman named Kelly.”
“Kelly? Who is she?”
Before she could answer, the taxi stopped. I hurriedly opened the door and got off. After a few steps, I found no movement
behind me. Looking back, Wendy was still sitting in the taxi.
“Don’t you go with me?”
“Cardiology on the third floor.”
Cardiology?
Dodo has a heart problem?
I turned and ran to the third floor. I found the nurse desk and asked which ward Dodo was in.
When the nurse inquired on the computer, I wished the nurse said there was no such person. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
I would rather it was Wendy’s prank than my daughter really had terrible heart disease.
But the nurse said, “Dodo? Are you her parent?”
“I’m her mother.”
“Can you show me your ID card?”
After seeing my ID card, the nurse told me to wait a minute and then made a call nearby.
This made my more flustered. Was it because my daughter has…..
No, no, my daughter will be fine……
In a panic, two policemen came and said that I was suspected of abandoning my child and wanted to tak e me back to the Bureau
for investigation.
I was confused: “Wait, can you tell me what happened?”
The police took out a photo: “At two o’clock this morning, the staff of the hospital found an abandoned ba by at the gate of the
hospital. The name and date of birth were written in a note in the bag and quilt.”
“Wh… What?” I shook my body and almost didn’t stand still. “Really?”
“Yes,” said the doctor next to her, “it was Dr. Xu from our department who first found her and judged that she had a congenital
heart disease according to work experience. Dr. Xu and the hospital, in the spirit of humanitarianism, performed thoracotomy on her
and now she lives in ICU.”
My vision was blurred. I wiped my tears with my sleeve: “I really didn’t abandon my daughter, but my ex husband and his lover hid my daughter because of the recent marriage change. That bitch said the child was here, but she didn’t go up stairs. By the way.
could it be a child with the same name? Can you show me the picture of the child?”
I covered my mouth and cried: “How can this happen? My daughter is a premature baby. She had been li ving in the incubator
since she was born. I haven’t heard of any doctor talking about this disease.”
Dr. Xu lifted his glasses: “I transferred her medical records in other hospitals, and found out that she had a heart disease on the
day of birth.”
My legs softened and I grabbed the worktable hard before I fell: “I haven’t seen my daughter since she w as born. My ex husband transferred her to a hospital I didn’t know about and threatened me with her life. I didn’t ask for help or call the police. I saw my daughter more than ten days ago, but I was busy dealing with the divorce lawsuit and didn’t care much about taking care of the child.
At last, I burst into tears. Dr. Xu took a handkerchief from the pocket of his white coat and handed it to m e: “Don’t worry Your daughter’s operation is very successful. She is also taken care of by professional nu rses in the ICU and will soon recover. If what you said is true, you should go back to the police station wit h the police first. I believe they will help you get justice after they understand
the situation.”
“Thank
Thank you.”
Chapter 30 Heart disease
I went to the police station that night. The police showed me the surveillance near the hospital. The woma
wrapped tightly, but I recognized Wendy at a glance.
I described what happened from Blake’s cheating to yesterday. They said they would contact Blake and W
verified what I said, they would arrest them for investigation.
Then I rushed back to the hospital. It was almost dawn. I sat in the chair next to the ICU and thought that
time came, I would go in to see my poor Dodo.
Then someone came up to me and said “You’re back“.
When I looked up and saw that it was Dr. Xu, I quickly stood up and said, “Yes, thank you.”
He smiled and said, “You can’t visit until 12 o’clock. You can go home to rest and come back then.”
“No, I want to wait here and see her immediately.”
He nodded. When he came to the door, he folded back: “Give me your cell phone and I’ll record a video fo
