Chapter 302 A Warning
The following morning, Nathael had just finished helping Maggie change the dressing on her back when Mia arrived with breakfast.
“Maggie! Seriously? You ended up in the hospital just from getting laid?!” Mia exclaimed as she entered the
room
Maggie was shocked and almost choked at Mia’s words.
“Mia! Watch your language!” Maggie’s face flushed red as she spoke through clenched teeth.
Mia, with her long, curly hair and tall, attractive figure, had the air of an elegant yet lazy Persian cat.
She smiled and remarked, “Oh, you’re still able to talk back, so it can’t be too serious.”
Maggie scowled, avoiding Nathael’s gaze and trying to blend into the background.
Mia sat on the bed edge, touching Maggie’s forehead. “Looks like the fever isn’t too bad.”
Maggie sighed. “I know you’re concerned about me, but it somehow feels like you’re here to make fun of me.
Mia chuckled. “You think too highly of yourself. I’m here just to make fun of you!”
“Mia! You’re such a heartless friend!”
“Alright, alright. I’ll stop. I now know Nathael’s so powerful in bed that he put you here,” Mia conceded.
Maggie struggled to breathe, and Nathael remained composed. “Thanks for the compliment, Ms. Gatlin. But our private matters are none of your concern.”
“Fine. I’m just here to see Maggie!” Mia said, not wanting to argue with Nathael after her previous run–in with him resulted in her allowance being cut off for a month.
“Joyce has an audition; she’ll come by later,” Mia said warmly.
“I’m okay. She doesn’t have to come. If she gets hassled by the paparazzi, they’ll make up stories about her. again,” Maggie said softly.
Nathael prepared breakfast with the items Mia brought and the items he had the maid prepare, while Mia chatted with Maggie.
“So? Is he really that good? And are you really that weak? I’m so disappointed in you!”
Maggie felt a pang of pain at Mia’s eagerness for gossip. “I have a fever! A fever! Can you please stop with the nonsense?!”
Mia raised an eyebrow. “Why won’t you admit it? Do you want me to get you a mirror? You look like you’ve been ravaged in bed.”
With that, Mia handed Maggie a small mirror. “Take a look for yourself.”
Looking into the mirror, Maggie froze.

She held her breath and exhaled slowly.
This time, she couldn’t deny the humiliation, no matter what.
The woman in the mirror looked pale, with slightly messy hair, swollen eyes, a scab on her mouth, and multiple hickies on her neck….
She didn’t want to admit it, but Mia was not joking; she looked ravaged.
Nathael, that jerk!
Why did he leave so many hickies on me?! Argh!
Three days later, Maggie was feeling better. Ronald called, requesting her presence at the Camerons”
residence.
Ronald remained unaware of Maggie’s abduction by Timmothy, a topic she didn’t intend to broach.
Nathael escorted her to the entrance of the Camerons residence and advised, “Let me know if you need anything.
“Sure. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
Upon arriving, Maggie spotted Madam Cameron pruning branches. The old lady looked up at her and asked, “Did Mr. Harris bring you here?”
“Yes. Grandma‘
Madam Cameron continued, “The Harrises wouldn’t approve of a union with our family, especially with you being an adopted daughter. You should focus on gaining some benefits for the family soon instead.”
Maggie pondered briefly before replying, “You’re right, Grandma.”
Seeing Maggie’s compliance, Madam Cameron softened her tone. “Sierra’s spoiled, but you and Joseph hold promise for the family’s future.”
“I understand, Grandma.”
“Head inside; your father’s waiting”
Inside, Maggie found Master Cameron reading the newspaper while Ronald looked down from upstairs and said, “Maggie, come to my study.”
After responding, Maggie contemplated Ronald’s intentions.
If she guessed correctly, it probably pertained to Luster Corporation and the university competition.
She knew that a significant portion of the Cameron’s assets were tied up with Nathael. However, thanks to Sierra’s actions, Luster Corporation’s reputation hadn’t significantly improved after two rounds of competition.
While opinions online were divided, most criticisms were directed at Sierra rather than Luster
Cornoration.

However, Sierra had also gained some loyal fans due to her appearance and the viral videos.
What does Ronald want from me?
Maggie knocked on the door while collecting her thoughts. “Hey, Dad.
“Maggie, come in.”
Ronald stood by his desk with documents laid out. “The situation with Luster Corporation isn’t looking good despite the substantial investments,”
Glancing at the TV show documents, Maggie suggested, “TV shows take time to gain popularity and require the show or one of the contestants to be a hit. However, with multiple investments, the family can maintain exposure
“Sjerra’s performance in the last competition was truly disappointing. Luckily, you did well and salvaged some pride for the family. Next time, I’m considering having you wear Luster Corporation’s flagship product. What do you think?”
Maggie hesitated. Tm fine with it if it helps the family. But don’t you think it’s too much? Perhaps I can wear another necklace, and Sierra can wear the flagship jewelry.”
Ronald seemed uncertain.
If Sierra hadn’t let him down multiple times, he wouldn’t choose to overlook his own daughter.
“Dad, Sierra is upset. With the online criticism, it’s all the more important that we support her. Let her wear the flagship product; it’s the best choice.
“All those jewelry seem the same to me; choose another luxurious one for me. After all, I’m beautiful not matter what I wear.”
Maggie teased him playfully, looking very convincing.
Ronald chuckled. “Alright, I’ll consider your suggestion. As for Mr. Harris…
“Luster Corporation is going through a rough patch; I believe he’ll understand.”
Ronald sighed and motioned for Maggie to sit.
“Sit down. Speaking of which, Mr. Harris seems fond of you. But a few days ago, Master Harris sent someone to give us a warning, saying that we shouldn’t have any thoughts of you marrying into the Harrises.”
