Chapter 215 A Trap

After Maggie finished her performance, three other contestants were left to go in her group.

Sierra watched them with a neutral face, although deep down, she knew they were not on Maggie’s level.

While it might not have been obvious to everyone, Sierra was well aware of the truth.

When they were learning piano together, Maggie showed outstanding talent, outshining Sierra in every way. As a natural prodigy, Maggie grabbed every chance to improve and practiced the piano relentlessly.

Because of this, Sierra became increasingly annoyed and came up with a way to have the teacher expel Maggie, simply claiming that she could not teach a student like her.

Even though her father thought Maggie had no talent for playing the piano and did not press the issue, Sierra knew the truth about Maggie’s real skills.

Despite years without practicing, Sierra was puzzled by how Maggie could still play the piano so flawlessly.

She wondered who had the courage to defy the Camerons by secretly giving Maggie lessons.

“Why does she seem so unaffected? What’s going on?”

During the competition, Sierra could not find any imperfections in Maggie’s appearance. In fact, Maggie looked exceptionally beautiful under the high–definition cameras.

“Did you follow my directions and swap the items? Sierra asked the makeup artist in a cold tone.

“I did, I swear!” The makeup artist quickly offered the switched foundation bottle as evidence.

However, Sierra refused to listen to any more explanations

She was too consumed by the fact that Maggie had stolen the spotlight. Maggie’s attire was perfect, and her makeup was equally flawless, hiding any signs of redness or swelling

Sierra felt a strong sense of frustration, thinking that this wild child had become increasingly difficult to deal with!

However, what went wrong?

It was as if Maggie had eyes in the back of her head!

Before she could think any further, Sierra’s phone rang. It was Olivia

“Sierra, the jewelry you picked out couldn’t be delivered in time. Although I’ve already sent someone to deliver it to you, could you please choose from the two sets we sent earlier if it doesn’t arrive before you go

on stage?”

Olivia was also at her wit’s end, never expecting that right before going on stage, Sierra would suddenly change her mind, refusing to wear any of the two sets of jewelry provided by Luster

However, even if Luster could provide other jewelry at this crucial moment, it would be challenging to deliver it to her before she went on stage.

do? Or is Luster running out of resources? If so, why even bother competing?”

Sierra’s words almost made Olivia pass out from frustration.

“Sierra, listen to me. You can have whatever jewelry you want later, but for now, please help the family through this difficult time. Your father has invested a lot of money to support you this time. If you don’t wear the jewelry, even he, with his good temper, will lose his cool, you

Sierra did not want to listen anymore and hung up the phone with a cold face.

She darkly eyed the three sets of jewelry laid out on her desk–two prepared by Luster and one originally intended for Maggie.

Why can Maggie refuse to wear them?

But not me?

If she can refuse, why can’t I?

Honestly, the two sets prepared by Luster were quite nice, but having once glimpsed the set Nathael gave Maggie, Sierra could no longer regard these others highly.

Coupled with Mia’s scorn and mockery, Sierra could not accept these sets of jewelry no matter what. She would never allow herself to be seen as inferior to Maggie!

Perhaps the makeup artist, fearing backlash over the foundation switch, cautiously interjected, “Ms.

could Cameron, actually, they’re really beautiful. Maybe you

“Mind your own business!”

Though well–intentioned, the makeup artist wisely shut her mouth after she was scolded, knowing she was just there to do a job. She would be paid anyway, so she would not suffer too much loss.

ty minutes later, Sierra, dressed in a splendid gown but with a bare neck, headed toward the

About twenty stage.

Suddenly, a staff member, out of breath, ran up to stop her: “Ms. Sierra Cameron? Here’s your jewelry.”

Hearing this, Sierra snatched the package and immediately opened it

Before her eyes, a luxurious set of jewelry made from yellow sapphires came into her sight. The necklace was radiating in a starburst pattern, each gem weighing over ten carats. The main stone was of the same size and color, but beneath it hung a teardrop–shaped diamond.

At just one glance, the jewelry captured Sierra’s heart.

“Help me put this on.” Hearing her name being called on stage, Sierra quickly asked the makeup artist to assist her.

They hurriedly adorned her with earrings, a bracelet, and a necklace. Taking a deep breath, Sierra then puffed out her chest and strode onto the stage, her demeanor as proud as a victorious rooster.

Maggie, wearing a jacket, waited backstage with Mia because, after her group’s performance ended, she still needed to be on stage for the judges‘ comments and to wait for the vote tally and rankings. So, she could not return to the audience seals yet.

After receiving a phone call, Mia smiled, found the live broadcast on her phone, and handed it to Maggie.

Under the high–definition camera, a girl resembling a fairy dressed in a pink gown sat at the piano. Around her neck, a luxurious yellow sapphire necklace sparkled magnificently, casting brilliant reflections under the stage lights and capturing the attention of all who saw her.

However, Sierra was quite petite, and while the necklace was beautiful, it was not as suitable for her as the ones Luster selected.

In reality, the necklace was too splendid that it overwhelmed her.

In truth, the necklace was so lavish it nearly overshadowed her.

Maggie glanced at the screen and arched an eyebrow, satisfied that her plan had worked.

She had chosen this necklace with Mia, who is tall, curvaceous, and sensually attractive, and had always had a preference for luxurious and glamorous things.

Most importantly, the jewelry was from the Adams.

“Ronald would be seething if he found out,” Maggie commented coolly, a hint of coldness in her beautiful

eyes.

Mia replied nonchalantly, “I think he would explode on the spot.”

The two exchanged a look, both in good spirits. NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Maggie’s goal was to utterly bankrupt Luster, making Ronald lose as much money as he invested. He would never dare dream of entering the jewelry business again!

In her previous life, the most successful industries that the Camerons developed were the jewelry business: and those related to the construction industry, such as real estate and hospitality.

Pulling her thoughts back, Maggie then listened intently to Sierra’s performance.

Sierra’s selection of pieces was relatively ethereal, with a beautiful atmosphere. After years of diligent practice, her performance was quite commendable.

However, it was merely commendable.
