KING MICAH: World Beyond The Ruins

Chapter 24

I blinked my eyes open at the bright light shining on my face. I looked around and saw that I was still naked and laying on the floor. When I looked over to where Fallon’s body was supposed to be, it was gone, but the blood was still there and dried up.

I got up and winced when the pain I felt between my legs was intense. I looked between my legs and sighed at the sight of the dried up blood. I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower.

The warm water felt nice and I wished that it could wash away my pain and sorrow. I was attached to Fallon, as much as I tried to deny it, and seeing her die like that was like a stab in the heart. It was like

a part of my heart had been cut off with hers.

I scoffed and choked on my spit as a realization came crashing down on me like a heavy brick.

I didn’t just like Fallon like I said I did. I was only saying those things and lying to myself because I was trying to please the king.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

No, I loved Fallon. I love her.

My legs were too weak to support me and I fell to the floor and cried, cried for my love that was gone.

The bathroom door opened and my heart fluttered in fear as I saw Micah standing there. He had a cold expression as he looked me over, like I was scum in his eyes.

“Be ready in fifteen minutes,” he said, and turned around to walk away.

I quickly got up and took a towel from the hamper and wrapped it around my waist. “I’m not going.” I said aloud when I was in the room and Micah’s steps came to a halt. For a few seconds, there were

no words said between us, and the only sounds that could be heard were my ragged breathing and the drops of water from my wet hair to the floor.

Micah scoffed and turned around, and I held the towel tightly to my chest.

“You will obey my orders.” “You are going with me to the castle, and that is final,” he growled out.

I looked at the floor as a single drop of water fell to the floor and scoffed. “Orders?” I asked and raised my head to look at him. “Or would you rape me into following it?”

Micah’s body tensed up, and he clenched his jaws and balled his hands tight.

“You forced me to do it,” he hissed out, and I laughed. My throat pushed out as Micah stomped over to me, pushed me to the wall, and grabbed my cheeks, making them hollow.

My hand left the towel and moved to grab Micah’s big arm. “You should have waited for me, Lovette. You should have tried harder, but you gave up on us before we had a chance.”

I glared into Micah’s grey eyes as he muttered those words. With both hands, I pulled Micah’s left hand away from my cheek, and I made sure not to break eye contact.

“I loved her. I loved her so much, but you took her away from me. Since the first time I saw you, I have loathed you. I hated you so much. Do you know why? ” I asked him as a wobbly smirk formed on my lips and tears began to gather in my eyes.

“Because you took away what I cherished the most, my mother. And now, I hate you more because you killed my love. ”

Micah’s lips were in a tight line as he looked down at me. Apart from clenching his jaw, he had no expression on his face.

He moved away from me and turned his back to me. I quickly bent down to pick up the towel that I hadn’t noticed had fallen and wrapped it around myself.

Micah turned towards me again and looked up at the ceiling. He closed his eyes and clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, and all I did was watch him.

He let out a sign and lowered his head to look at me. “I will not apologize for what I have done. You are my mate and should only be with me. We are going to the Dragon Kingdom and that is final.” He snapped, and I glared at him.

“You need me…” I stated, and he looked confused.

I slowly walked over to him and placed my hands on his chest. in the same place where the snake-dagger had impaired into his flesh.

“You need me because…” Slowly, I pulled Micah’s shirt above his head and dropped the black material on the floor. I looked at his chest in satisfaction to see that the poison had spread to his shoulders.

I placed my right hand on his chest and used the other to trace each black vein, and Micah tensed up from the touch. I finished with a laugh. “You couldn’t get the dragon kings’ blood.”

“He requested for me before he could give it to you right.” I laughed again and clapped my hands together like a crazy woman.

I stopped laughing and looked him deep in the eye before moving closer to him. “Oh Micah, I would be the end of you,” I mumbled into his eyes.

All the king did was chuckle and step back. “Dear mate, I have lived for hundred of years and will continue to do so. There is nothing you can do… not while I have your mother in my dungeon.”

My eyes widen, and I stumble backwards. “Mom?” I said to myself. Micah chuckled again and came closer to me.

He brushed a wet strand of red hair that had stuck to my forehead and placed it behind my ear. “Oh yes, darling, your mom isn’t dead.” He whispered in my ears, just like how I did to him.

I snapped my head up and glared at his face. “Is this some kind of joke?” I sneered, and Micah smirked.

“Why don’t you come see for yourself?”
