Thanks to Solomon’s influence, Miranda saw a major improvement in her productivity. Over the course of just one morning, she’d finished two sets of worksheets.
When Solomon checked them, she’d scored 95 marks on both of the worksheets, to his
surprise.
He’d heard that Miranda had graduated three years ago and had only recently picked up studying again. He’d never thought she’d be this smart! No wonder Christine held her in such high regard.
Miranda didn’t know what was running through Solomon’s mind at that moment. She gave him a heads up that she was going to the bathroom.
On the other hand, when Ingrid saw her leave, she als got up and followed her.
“Wait.”
Miranda turned around. She didn’t seem surprised by Ingrid’s appearance. “Yes?”
“Last night, I delivered homemade pumpkin soup to Hans‘ mansion. He loved it. He devoured the entire bowl and didn’t leave a single drop behind.”
Ingrid smiled slightly, revealing a pair of dimples. “Not only that, he even asked me to stay the night.
“I never knew he had such a rough yet sexy side to him. I barely slept the entire night,” she continued, purposely making the lies sound plausible.
Lowering her head shyly, she fluttered her eyelashes and put on a bashful expression, as though she’d been ravished thoroughly last night. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Miranda’s heart twinged in pain. She found it difficult to breathe..
“Are you jealous?” Ingrid whispered in her ear. “Do you have regrets? Too bad you don’t have any more chances.”
Suddenly, Miranda smiled. She stared at Ingrid and asked meaningfully, “How do your know you’re the only one he’s done those things to?”
Ingrid’s face paled.
Miranda continued, “You might just be one of many. Of course, you won’t be the last one either.” Ignoring the scowl on Ingrid’s face, she walked away.
After finishing the last question on his worksheet, Solomon finally realized that the seat. next to him had been empty for a while. He picked up his phone to send Miranda a text, but she returned just then.
Sasha koted over and saw her pale face, he grew worried: “Are you alright? Do you
Dipping tingalls into her palm harshly, Miranda shook her head. “I’m fine. Maybe in tod hot because it feels a little stuffy. Let keep going ”
At 5:00 pm, they called it a day
Solomon remembered that he’d unexpectedly had to take a raincheck for dinner
esterday. “My roommate told me about a decent barbecue restaurant that opened recently. Do you want to go together? It’ll be my treat.
Miranda stood there quietly. No one else could tell, but her mind had been drifting many miles away the entire afternoon. She shook her head apologetically. “Sorry, but I don’t feel that well today. Let’s go next time.
Solomon didn’t take it personally. “Sure. I’ll treat you next time.”
The moment Miranda got home, she crumpled onto the couch as if all the energy had drained from her body.
The goldfish that she’d been rearing for some time had grown bigger. As she watched the goldfish blow bubbles and swim around the fish tank, she slowly grew sleepy.

When she awoke again, the already completely dark. She picked up her phone. to check the time; much to her shock, it was already 8:00 pm.
No wonder she’d woken up from hunger.
Putting on her slippers, she walked to the kitchen to make some food. Halfway there, she remembered that because she’d been so busy recently, she’d already used up all the food in the fridge. She’d been supposed to buy groceries this afternoon, but she’d forgotten.
At this hour, the supermarket was still open. She grabbed her keys and headed there. There weren’t many vegetables left, but the seafood section still had a great selection.
In the end, she bought a piece of salmon. Suddenly, she craved garlic herb seasoning, so she went to the spices section.
After searching high and low, she found a pack of pre–mixed garlic herb seasoning. As she reached for it, her hand accidentally came into contact with the back of someone’s
warm hand.
