I Am the Ruler of All

Chapter 333

Chapter 333

The hilarity mounted, and Frederick clutched his stomach, pretending to guffaw in glee. He mocked, "Honestly, trash like you can't even get close to our turf. The local gangs can wipe you out easily. The guys in this hotel can beat your ass without breaking a sweat. You guys—"

Frederick's voice slowly turned into a whisper, and the disdain on his face faded. His jaw dropped, and disbelief filled his eyes. "Wait. Why didn't anybody stop you? They should've seen you and your crew a mile away!" Frederick frowned. "And what about the hotel bouncers? What about my crew? There's no way they would have let you in."

"Man, I have the same question." Leoric shrugged. "Some guys tried to stop us before we could even get close. I thought we were goners, but then some more guys showed up and kicked the local gangs' asses."

"T-They kicked their asses? What the f*ck are you talking about?"

Xanxus was flabbergasted. The whole of South Nakson was his turf. Aside from his lackeys, there were more than a few hundred borderline criminals who relied on the casino for their livelihood.

Scarlett and Zwander were just a few of many. Xanxus couldn't believe all those lackeys would lose so easily, unless Jarett's men were involved. His face fell, and he looked at Leoric. "Are they Jarett's men? Your reinforcements, I mean."

"No," Leoric answered confidently.

"And how do you know?" Frederick glared at him. "You better f*cking tell me the truth!"

"I am telling the truth," Leoric answered. "I've never seen Mr. Cole, but I know how powerful he is. There's no way those guys work for him." There was a look of worship in Leoric's eyes. "They were bare-handed, but any one of them could take out ten enemies by themselves easily. They're professionals!"

Frederick thought about it and whispered, "Maybe they're Baron's boxers."

Before Xanxus could say anything, Kingsley blurted, "Alright, stop. They're my crew." He knew those guys must be soldiers in disguise sent by Ignatov. Borderline criminals aside, there were civilians around. The soldiers would cause a ruckus if they came in fully armed. Ignatov knew that as well, so he sent some soldiers in disguise to take out all of Xanxus' goons.

Xanxus' cheeks trembled. "Your crew? There's no way they're your crew. Baro—"

Sounds of uniform footsteps rang in the hallway, cutting Xanxus short. Five lean, tanned men appeared outside the door. They were in neat white shirts, stylish black suits, and a pair of black leather shoes that gleamed under the light.

Their hair was cut short, and their eyes were filled with steely resolve and motivation. One look at how these men carried themselves, and Xanxus knew why Leoric was sure these men did not work for Jarett. None of Jarett's thugs had their air of confidence.

The leader of the men came into the room. He approached Kingsley and was about to raise his right hand, but then he put it down beside him. Nobody noticed that but Kingsley, and he nodded with a smile. He knew the soldier was about to salute him, but he was under strict orders to keep Kingsley's identity a secret, so he put his hand down. "Si—Mr. Nicholson, we've apprehended the thugs around the casino. What do you want us to do now?"

The soldier was trembling with excitement. Oh my god. I'm reporting mission progress to Ares himself. And I'm inches away from him! He was starting to radiate the kind of air only soldiers had, though he did not realize it.

Kingsley nodded. "Good job. Is anyone hurt?"Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
