Chapter 25
He resolved in his mind to put the event behind him and move on in life, he would rather set his mind on something worthwhile, assuring himself that there would be light at the end of the tunnel for him.
As these thoughts flashed through his mind, he sat up and looked around for whatever it was that had startled him, with the Ray of the sun radiating the room, he could make out the brown calendar that lay beneath the bedside, good enough the pain in his body were beginning to subside.
Thanks to the pain relief pills he took last night, it had really gone a long way to give him relief, it was getting into noon and he had not taken breakfast.
Marco gasped, stood up frantically and walked up to the dinning table and took the single note Fred had given him earlier, he opened the door and went outside in order to buy bread for his breakfast.
Marco walked under the sun from the shop he bought the bread, the morning sunshine was warm and soothing on his skin, when he returned to the room, he sat down and ate in delight.
He brought out the remaining pain relief pills and swallow it, feeling satisfied he lay back on the bed for some minutes with the hope that he would get up some minutes after to do his washing, but he didn’t know when sleep overtook him.
The atmosphere was humid with the sun, busy doing what if knows how to do bear with all it’s energy, Marco was on the bed basking in the warmth the sun was emitting on the surface of the earth.
Suddenly his eyes were opened and he felt the sweat that had soaked his entire body making him look like he was coming out of a pool of water, he got up immediately, stretched himself and yawned. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“What a sunny day” he mumbled to himself, then took a quick look at the clock, it was 2:00pm already, which meant he had slept for over five hours.
He remove the damp shirt from his body and added it to the one he had earlier intended to wash, picked up a bucket, went outside and shut the door behind him.
As he was washing the clothes, he noticed that a lady passed by, carrying a bag in her hand, however it did not occur to him to look at her at all, as far as he was concerned nothing mattered to him expect getting his clothes clean and dry so that he would have something to put on the next day so that he would have something to put on the next day since he did not have enough clothes, the ones he had, he made sure he kept them sparkling clean.
For some time, he was busy scrubbing the clothes expending much energy, and for some unknown reason he didn’t turn his eyes to glance at the lady.
Even in the university days, ladies were the last thing that ever crossed his mind, he observed that the lady slowed her pace when she got loser to where he was washing.
But that of course never propelled him to raise his head and look at her, the only reason he could have done that would have been if she had ventured to ask him question, he could not fathom the lady’s mission either, wether she was a visitor or not, the fact that she did not enquire anything from him proved that she knew her way.
