When he eventually bought his ticket, he went back to the spot where his mother was standing, he wound his arms around her shoulder, bent down and whispered.

“Don’t cry anymore Mum, I’m not going forever, I will comeback to you in a little while, my reason for leaving is dictated by unforseen circumstances beyond our control, nevertheless, you have to understand that fact that there comes a time in a human’s life when one would have to wake up in order to leap for treasure, for what shall it profit me if i continue to abide here, looking up to you for my three square meal. A man like me!”

“I understand that perfectly well Mum, and that is why i would not stay long before i return. As soon as i arrive there, I will surely write to you, if i happen to see anybody coming home, I will send down messages, and more importantly, immediately i secure a job, I would have to visit home, I am definitely not leaving you in a lurch. So Mum have patience because everything would soon be alright” he assured her, but deep down he wasn’t sure about what was waiting for him over there.
