Late into the night, the club pulsed with energy. The blend of light and alcohol heightened people’s senses to the max. A sleek black Bentley pulled up to the entrance, its subtle elegance contrasting sharply with the club’s atmosphere.

Thiago picked up his phone and saw Whitney’s grin the moment he entered the door. Her once–serene beauty now exuded a bold, almost provocative allure, making her appear somewhat unapproachable. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Thiago sat down in a random seat and ordered a glass of water. His eyes remained glued to Whitney, who now radiated a captivating allure.

Sophia raised her glass and said, “Come on! Let’s welcome Whitney back! And don’t you dare forget about us when you’re rolling in dough!”

In the noisy club, the sound of glasses clinking reverberated all around. Whitney could distinctly hear everyone’s well wishes, which boosted her excitement. She found herself losing her usual self–control as she indulged in drinking.

Thiago frowned as she drank one glass after another. He wondered, ‘When did she become so adept at drinking? Has she always been like this, or did she develop a tolerance in the year since our divorce?‘

Only then did Thiago realize how little he knew about Whitney. Despite five years of marriage, it appeared that he knew next to nothing about

her aside from her name.

Suddenly, a warm hand landed on his shoulder. Thiago recognized the touch and didn’t bother to turn around. Steven said, “Thiago, since when did you start beating around the bush? She is here. You two were once in love. Why don’t you join them for a drink?”

“Mind your own business.” Thiago slapped Steven’s hand away, drank the remaining water, and got up to leave. He admitted to himself that hearing about Whitney’s new relationship had angered him. However, Steven’s words served as a stark reminder that he and Whitney were

divorced.

For Whitney, their past relationship seemed to be taboo, and that included discussions about Thiago himself. She didn’t even want to do business with him.

“What’s going on? Why did you leave after just one glass of water?” Steven was perplexed by Thiago’s behavior. He furrow. pulled Thiago back. “Thiago, since when did you become so shy?”

“It’s none of your business. If you have time to worry about me, you might as well focus on yourself,” Thiago retorted and shook off Steven’s grip.

However, Steven was inherently rebellious. Moreover, he knew Thiago well, so he was determined to approach Whitney that evening. Steven dragged Thiago toward Whitney’s booth.

Jonah had noticed Steven and Thiago approaching. He scowled and leaned closer to Whitney, almost appearing glued to her.

“Well, isn’t this Mr. Mackenzie?” Sophia noticed the duo, too.

Hearing this, Whitney raised her eyes and involuntarily frowned at Thiago. Though she wanted to speak up, she held her tongue after thinking about what had happened today.

‘So, he’s Thiago’s friend. It’s no surprise that he knows me,‘ she commented inwardly.

Seeing Whitney’s lack of response, Steven seized the opportunity and sat down, pulling Thiago along with him, “Since we’ve just bumped into each other, mind if we join your table?”

“–Before Whitney could finish her words, she was interrupted by Jonah. “Of course, we don’t mind.Jonah leaned on Whitney’s shoulder with a lazy, charming demeanor reminiscent of a contented kitten. “Winnie, what do you think?”

Well, it’s up to you.” Whitney smiled.

As Jonah was the host of the evening’s gathering, Whitney held no objection if he welcomed Thiago and Steven joining them. She trusted

Jonah and was confident that he would never harm her.

“Winnie, you are so generous,” Sophia suddenly said sarcastically.

Apart from Whitney and Jonah, no one else knew what was going on, so no one responded.

To Whitney’s surprise, Thiago remained as impassive as an ice sculpture. He sat upright and remained silent. His eyes, dark and intense, seemed fixed on some distant point.

Noticing Whitney’s distraction, Jonah pursed his lips and called out, “Winnie.”

“Hmm?” Whitney turned around and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“I’m a little tired.” Jonah hugged her and lowered his head as if he was really sleepy.

“Why don’t I drive you back?” Whitney offered.

“Actually, Winnie,” Jonah said, squinting slightly as he flashed a charming smile, “it’s been ages since I’ve heard you sing. Everyone’s here. How about a song?”

Whitney was dumbfounded.

Hearing this, Lester immediately became excited. “What? Whitney can sing?”

“Winnie sings beautifully.” Sophia immediately began to flatter Whitney. As she spoke, her eyes subtly darted toward Thiag worried her sarcasm might go missed.

“C’mon, sing a couple of songs for us!” Lester urged enthusiastically.

Faced with everyone’s expectant gaze, Whitney had the impulse to hurl Jonah into the nearest trash can. ‘Why did he have to bring that up?” Whitney wondered, aggravated by the crowd’s increasing excitement, which left her with no graceful way to decline.

Since she couldn’t say no, she could only brace herself for it.

All the stage’s dim lights focused on Whitney as the club’s resident vocalist left the stage. The dazzling spotlight blurred her view of the spectators below the stage, and all she could see was the swirling particles dancing in the light before her eyes.

It was as though she was the only one in the world.

It felt as though time had rewound to a few years ago. After the song ended, Whitney’s memory snapped back to the present. She smiled and gracefully exited the stage.

She heard applause and praises. Then, someone suddenly shouted, “I remember it! She is Goddess Dew on Twitter! It sounds exactly the same!”

What? Goddess Dew?” someone asked.

“Don’t you know Goddess Dew? You’re lame!” the person remarked.

Whitney was surprised. When she turned around, a crowd instantly surrounded her, buzzing with chatter and requests for photos.

Steven looked at the scene and shook his head vigorously. He lowered his voice. “Thiago, don’t blame me. She’s stunning, and her singing is captivating. She used to be so devoted to you. How did you let her slip away?”

“Save it if you’ve got nothing useful to say.” Thiago shot him a cold look. If he had known it, their relationship wouldn’t have come to this.

With a gloomy face, Thiago stepped away and walked over to Whitney. Standing at about six feet tall, he cut a striking figure amid the crowd. He stood at the outskirts of the crowd, hands in his pockets, silently observing Whitney amid the bustling scene.

“Sorry, I’m not available now.” Whitney politely declined the kind offers before making her way out of the crowd. She heard Thiago’s cynical remark. “Why don’t you summon your escort here to help you?”

‘Escort?‘ she exclaimed inwardly.

Whitney stopped and looked back at him. “Thiago, do you realize you look like you’re jealous of my new boyfriend? Of course, I don’t mind

having one more suitor. You can express your love for me openly.”

Thiago scoffed, somehow finding her words cute.
