His Destructive, Toxic Love

Chapter 310

"I'm out of steam," he said, stretching out his arm, looking all feeble. "Give me a hand, will you? What harm could I do?"

Eliza rolled her eyes but helped him anyway. "Let's take the elevator." There was no way she had the strength to drag him up to the second floor. He was dead weight.

Somehow, she managed to get Casper up to the second floor and into the bedroom. She felt like her back was about to snap.

As she turned to leave, Casper grabbed her wrist with a cheeky grin. "At least help me clean myself, won't you?"

"Casper, don't push your luck," she snapped, her face souring.

"Fine, forget it." He didn't press, but she could tell he was a bit miffed. "I'll do it later."

She ignored him and walked straight out of the bedroom.

The next day, Morning sunlight filtered softly through the gaps in the curtains, landing on the bedside.

Eliza got up early for work, dressed in a sharp, professional outfit. She looked ready to conquer the day.

The new deputy director was arriving on a 10 a.m. flight. Eliza asked Noel to join her for the airport pickup. "Ms. Valerie, should we take the company car?" Noel asked.

Eliza nodded with a smile. "Yes, you drive the company car, and we'll head out soon."

"Alright."

Soon enough, Noel was driving the company car with Eliza riding shotgun as they made their way to the airport.

Meanwhile, Casper, who had planned to take it easy at home, was sitting in the living room, laser-focused on his laptop, tackling work.

Dillon burst in, looking frantic and out of breath. "Mr. Casper, we've got a big problem!"

"Take it easy," Casper said, closing his laptop and taking a calm sip of his coffee. "What's going on?"

"I just got a call from Nova. Aaron's planning something against your wife." Dillon took a deep breath, trying to steady himself.

Casper's brow furrowed, a cold glint in his eyes. He knew Aaron wouldn't let things slide, but he hadn't expected this level of desperation. "What's he planning?" Casper asked in a low, serious voice.

Dillon rushed his words. "Nova said Aaron's tampered with the cars at your wife's company and even set up a signal jammer. With all the

company's business lately and her

frequent travels, I'm

Dillon didn't get to finish before Casper, alarmed, cut him off, "He messed with the cars? Eliza's on her way to the airport to pick up the new deputy director..."Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Casper glanced at his watch,

threw his laptop aside. "Let's go right

now

We need to stop their car!"

"Right away."

On the way, Dillon kept trying to reach Eliza's phone, but each call got the same response-out of service.

The cold, mechanical voice seemed to spell doom.

"Mr. Casper, the highway to the airport is a winding mountain road. One side is a sheer cliff, and the other is a bottomless drop. If the brakes are tampered with, not even a miracle could save them

Casper's expression darkened. His eyes burned with a fierce determination, well aware of the road's perils.

At a speed of 75 mph, it was a death trap.

He took a deep breath, doing his best to keep his emotions in check. He needed a clear head to handle this. "Pull over."

The car swerved to a stop by the roadside. Dillon, baffled, asked, "Mr. Casper, what's going on?"
