Chapter 200 Hello Boyfriend
“What are they waiting for, then?”
Lynn chuckled. “Dr. Thorne, the hospital director’s only treasured daughter, he gave her half of his fortune as her dowry. It was quite a sum, to say the least! If she were to divorce now, she’d have to split that fortune with Harry. Honestly, after everything that’s happened, I don’t think Priscilla has much affection for him anymore. But she’s a dutiful girl. She doesn’t want to see her father’s hard–earned wealth divided up. So, she has no choice but to endure and carry on.”
Upon hearing, Lysander felt a certain unease in her heart.
In the afternoon, there was a cesarean section surgery.
The umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby’s neck, posing a slight risk. Fortunately, she was experienced and, in the end, gave birth to a pair of fraternal twins–a boy and a girl. Both the mother and her two children were safe and sound.
By the time she finished work, it was already past nine in the evening-
After she had gathered her belongings and left the hospital, she instinctively searched for the silhouette of the white Cayenne in the parking lot. But now, she found herself somewhat taken aback.
After spending a few days at home, she had even lost this habit.
She was about to hail a taxi at the alley entrance, bag slung over her shoulder, when she suddenly noticed a figure clad in a woolen coat. He was standing under the brightest streetlamp in the parking lot.
Zachary also spotted her and trotted over to her.
She watched as he undid two buttons on his woolen coat, then pulled out something warm from within, offering it to her.
“This is…
“Roasted potato!” Zachary’s nose was turning a bit red from the cold. “Your favorite when you were a kid. Nowadays, they’re all electrically roasted, which doesn’t have that nostalgic taste. The one I bought is the traditional ash–roasted potato. Give it a try.” Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
“Where did you buy this from?”
Zachary sniffed. “Quilton.”
Quilton was located on the easternmost edge of Harborbrook, where there was a village that hadn’t yet been demolished. It was about a forty to fifty–minute journey from Central Hospital.
The weather had gradually grown cooler, yet the potato resting in her hand was still faintly warm.
“Once I got off work, I drove over, and it took me quite a while to find a place that makes ash–roasted
1 potatoes. I got delayed on the road coming back, so it’s definitely not as good as when it’s fresh out of the oven, but I’ve kept it warm, so it should still be hot. Oh, and also this…”
Zachary was seen pulling out a plastic disposable spoon, meticulously wrapped in cling film, from his coat pocket.
“Over at Quilton, they don’t provide spoons when selling roasted sweet potatoes. So, I bought one from the convenience store. Worried about it being unhygienic in my pocket. I wrapped it in cling film.”

Chapter 200 Hello Boyfriend
Suddenly, Lysander felt a slight sting in her nose.
Zachary waited for her to speak, but she remained silent. So, he continued, “Lysander, I’ve thought it through, I can accept it.”
Lysander lifted her head, meeting his
gaze.
Zachary’s expression was incredibly serious. “I spent last night tossing and turning, but I’ve made up my mind. The past is the past, and the present is the present. All I want is your present and your future. I may not be as wealthy or handsome as Mr. Guerra, but I’ll do everything I can to treat you well. It’s okay if you don’t like me right now. We can take our time getting to know each other. I’m not in a rush, and I can wait. I believe that as long as we nurture this relationship, there will come a day when it blossoms.”
Suddenly, Lysander was reminded of that particular instance.
It was in this very parking lot and under this very streetlight.
To mend their relationship, Josiah took the initiative and presented her with a bouquet of roses.
But what use would that be?
While he was still delivering roses, the love of his life had already moved into their marital home.
She had only briefly held the bouquet of roses in the parking lot before Josiah placed them in the back seat. Later, she left them at the entrance of the bridal chamber, not taking them with her.
Lysander took a sniff.
Perhaps she was never meant to be paired with roses. Roasted potatoes were more fitting gifts for someone as ordinary as her. Holding one in her hand, it was warm and comforting. She scooped a spoonful of the golden–orange flesh into her mouth. It was sweet, soft, and filled with the familiar taste of her childhood.
This was her usual life, after all!
Zachary did not receive a definitive response. He merely watched her as she delicately nibbled on her potato, wanting to ask but hesitant to press too hard for an answer.
“Lysander?”
“Let’s get to know each other again.”
Zachary was still in shock. “What?”
“Hello, boyfriend.”
