Chapter 42
Chapter 42
I left his house. I parked the scooter and walked without a destination. I don't want to go back home. I can't call anyone. I can't find anyone. Even if Sofia called me back, I couldn't attend it. I looked up at the dark sky. I don't know the water in my eyes is the rain or the tears.
I should give up and go back home. I wish Xander would come back for me. But my fear is higher than the hope. It seems like my fears will come true. I was watching the empty road with fewer people, my eyes caught someone inside the cafe. I walked towards the cafe and looked into the window from a distance.
" Xander..." My voice stuck in my throat as I watched the person next to him. Veronica's already with him. Veronica's hands are on either side of his cheek while Xander is listening to whatever she's saying. Is it really over? Did he get back to her? I thought he loved me. I loved him.
I couldn't watch more. I stumbled and walked away. No. I ran. I ran back to the place where I parked the scooter. I'm not going to back to Xander's house. I can't go back after seeing this. I wiped my tears off and started the engine.
He said he will never leave me.
....
An hour ago:
Sofia's POV:
" Can you wait outside Mr..."
"Mr Therapist..." I asked him without knowing his name.
"Mr Alexander. I will wait outside," He went outside leaving me and Xander alone.
" I never begged anyone in my life. I'm doing it now. Please, don't leave Madison. She loves you. She doesn't want to be with anyone. You can't leave her now," I spoke as he blankly stared at me in confusion or a little bit of anger.
" What the hell are you thinking, Sofia? Why would I leave her? I love her too. Do you think these memories gonna make me hate her again?" Xander yelled at me. But I never felt more happier than I do now.
" I thought..."
" You heard me, right? I would never do that. But all these memories confuses me. I don't know anything about Madison years ago. She wasn't even my friend. But now there's nothing that we didn't share except these memories."
" She doesn't want to tell you about these memories because she's afraid you will hate her again. But all these years you are thinking she tries to betray Veronica. That wasn't true. She told us that she loves you. Even after knowing that, Veronica accepted your proposal and shown Madison has a person who betrayed her. You didn't know but you hurt Madison without knowing it. How can you decide a person's character without even knowing them? Since you have your memories back, I'm extremely mad at you."
" I'm sorry. I don't think I can face Madison again. I never even thought she loved me when Veronica and I were together. I scolded her for sleeping next to me in the bed. I hated her the most than anyone when I should be hating Veronica."
" You should have stayed away from Veronica. You are in a trance. You never listened to others. You trusted the wrong person. Madison told that she shared her past with you. But you don't know one thing. After all the tragic accident of her sister, she came here to start a happy life and it was ruined
because of you and Veronica." I threw all the words at him in anger. There's a remorse look on his face. I know it's killing him.
" I don't want to upset you more with the past and you don't have to suffer more with these memories. Madison's worried about you. Go back to her and make everything right. I will be grateful for you if you keep her happy for the rest of the life."
Xander stayed silent without a reply. I don't know how to assure him. I'm not good at making people feel better. I can only hope he could be alright and get back to Madison and tells that he remembers it all. And he will always be with her.
I took my phone to see many missed calls from her. I called her back to tell her Xander's still in the therapist house. Why she's not attending the call? Her phone is switched off.
" I can't forgive myself for everything. I'm far angrier on Veronica than I ever been. We never had a good relationship and I have forgiven her all these days and I missed someone who loved me truly. I wish I could take it all back?" Xander complained, seated in a chair.
" You still can make things right,"
" I will but I can't take all the pain I had given Madison. She still saved me from the accident when all I gave her was hatred." Xander kept his hands on his head, stressing out.
" Stop it. That's enough. You never did anything on purpose. Now, do what's right." I shouted at him.
" I'm going to see Veronica," He muttered and headed towards the door.
" What? Are you insane? You are still making a wrong decision,"
" No. I'm not getting back to her. Now, I have my memories back. I want to end things with her face to face. I felt a little bit sorry for her when I ran away from the wedding. Now, all I feel is anger. Tell
Madison, I will be back home soon." Xander ordered and left, slamming the door shut.
Madison's not attending her call. What is she doing now? I hope she's not feeling bad.
" Damn it, why is your phone still in switch off?" I spoke in frustration as I dialled her number again. She has to know that everything's fine. Her fear is not going to come true. From the look of Xander, I'm sure he loves her as much as she loved him.

Madison Grace:
The scooter stuck in the mad when I haven't even crossed the cafe. How am I going to reach the mansion and return the man's scooter and walk to Sofia's house. I'm already freezing in this cold. I kicked the scooter in frustration. I stood at the same place fully wet with bloodshot eyes.
Suddenly, I heard a voice calling me. Xander won't be coming back for me. He's with Veronica.
" Madison," I heard his voice for sure. I turned back seeing him cross the street. I left the scooter and walked away with the key. I can't face him. He was with Veronica. That hurts more than he hurts me years ago.
" Madison, stop." He ran behind me in the rain and grabs my hand.
" Let go. Leave me alone. I know you got your memories back. Henry told me. This is why I refused to love you. You promised me and you are with Veronica now. I can't deal with this anymore," I yelled and kept a distance between us.
" You misunderstood, Madison. I have my memories back but I'm not getting back with Veronica. Believe me,"
" Then why are you with her? Never mind...I'm not hearing anything. I want to be alone now. Don't you dare follow me," I make my words clear to him and took a turn to the next road. I can rather walk home in this cold than talking with him. Xander and Veronica in the cafe still staying in my eyes. I don't know what explanation he got for it? But I don't think I'm ready to hear it.
I crossed a road but there's no sign of Xander and I didn't expect him to follow me. Suddenly, a car sped by and stopped right in front of me, blocking the path. My eyes are almost blurry in the rain.
When my vision gets a little bit clearer, the car door opened. There's a uniformly dressed man is in the driver's seat and Xander is in the back seat.
" I told you not to follow me," I yelled, looking at him.
" You are freezing, Madison. Get inside now." He ordered me. Not in anger but in care.
