In the villa, Hudson was delirious with fever. His wounds kept getting infected, reducing him to a mere skeleton. Thankfully, Selene had left him some medicine to stabilize his condition. Otherwise, he would have already been dead. Was seeking Flora's help really the only option left? He couldn't swallow his pride. His wounds were courtesy of Flora, and now he had to beg her for help. But if he didn't ask Flora, he would die.
"Get Alexa in here!" he commanded. If it hadn't been for standing up for Alexa, he wouldn't be in this mess. Why should he suffer alone? Soon, his assistant brought Alexa in.
Hudson barked, "I don't care how you do it, but you must convince Flora to come and treat me! And remember, you must ask politely!"
Alexa's palms started to sweat. She hadn't expected Hudson to still insist on Flora treating him. Since Hudson was determined, she didn't argue, but did Flora really deserve such respect?
"Mr. Otto, Flora isn't powerful or influential. Getting her to treat you should be easy. Just have a couple of people bring her here by force if necessary."
"Do you have a death wish? Don't drag me into it!" Hudson's headache worsened from the fever, and his annoyance with Alexa grew. He lost all fondness for her. Alexa was puzzled, not understanding why Hudson seemed to fear Flora. But Hudson would never share such an embarrassing secret with her.
"Miss Zhao, I'm giving you one day. If you can't get Flora here by today..." His voice was hoarse and threatening, "You know I'm not known for my patience."
Alexa shivered involuntarily.
Connor had breakfast with Flora before dropping her off at University of Maple Grove. Flora had to pick up some things from her dormitory. Cynthia and Eilies were chatting when she walked in, their excitement growing.

"A competition?" Flora raised an eyebrow.
Seeing she hadn't heard, Cynthia slapped her thigh. "The medical council's representatives have arrived and issued a challenge-to University of Maple Grove, aiming to compete in medical skills."
Flora took her jacket out of the closet and merely responded with an "Oh."
Cynthia and Eilies looked at each other, surprised at Flora's calm demeanor.
"This time, University of Maple Grove's participants will likely be selected from the labs. Flora, you might end up representing University of Maple Grove in the competition!" Cynthia added.
"I heard it's going to be broadcasted live. I wonder if we can get close enough to watch..." Eilies mused.
Flora slung her backpack over her shoulder and headed to the lab, where Shawn and others were also discussing the competition.
"Let's start the meeting," Dr. Ray announced as he stepped out of his office. Noticing someone was missing, he frowned, "Where's Alexa?"
"Professor, Alexa hasn't arrived yet," Shawn replied.
It was already five past nine, and she
still hadn't shown up? Dr. Ray felt a surge of irritation. "We'll start
without her. If she doesn't care to
