Chapter 512
Gregory sat on the small sofa, clearly irked, as he worked on translating documents.
Ray didn't pay him any further attention. Instead, he focused on reviewing important files, categorizing them, and sticking labels on each to make Aisha's job easier later.
It wasn't until 7 AM the next morning that Gregory finally finished translating the documents, but the grammar was a disaster.
Ray snorted dismissively, "A high school kid could do a better job than you."
Gregory, who hadn't slept all night, was pale and trembling, barely able to stand. Autumn's chill had settled in, and Ray, stubbornly, hadn't turned on the heating, leaving Gregory shivering all night. Frustrated and worn out, Gregory was on the verge of losing his temper, but he swallowed his anger, not wanting to cross someone from the Brimer family.
"You're done. You can leave now," Ray said, tossing the documents Gregory had slaved over all night straight into the trash.
Gregory stormed out, face flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment.
Ray freshened up in the washroom, then headed downstairs to grab breakfast for Aisha.
About ten minutes after Ray left, Aisha woke up, feeling rejuvenated from a solid night's sleep.
She got up, opened the rest room door, and found the office empty. The desk was cluttered with documents, but the colorful sticky notes stood out.
She started sifting through the documents, appreciating the detailed notes and categorizations. Ray's handwriting was bold, just like his personality. Her phone buzzed with a text message.
"Good morning, Miss Aisha. This is Ms. Brigid, Ray's fiancée. I'm downstairs at your office. Do you have time to meet?"
Ms. Brigid... The girl the Brimer family arranged for Ray to marry?
Aisha's mood darkened slightly.Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
The medical department had noticed that Dr. Jules had been showing up a lot more frequently. Previously, he'd visit no more than ten times a year, but this week alone, he'd already been there three times, much to everyone's surprise.
After class, as the students reluctantly left, Jules caught up with Flora, "I've submitted your registration form. You should get the results by next Monday." Flora nodded lazily, slinging her backpack over her shoulder and heading to the campus gate. Connor was picking her up today for a breakfast date. As Jules was packing up, a student approached him, "Dr. Jules, I'm having trouble with a problem. Could you help me understand it?" Libby, clutching her book shyly, seemed a bit embarrassed.
"What's the problem? Show me," Jules said, recognizing her as one of his most attentive students. He always had extra patience for diligent learners.
After explaining the problem, Libby hesitated before asking, "Dr. Jules, are you close with Flora?"
"Why do you ask?"
"It just seems like you treat Flora differently..."
"What's it to you?" Jules frowned.
"Dr. Jules, I have to say, even though Flora got into the University of Maple Grove Medical School with top national scores, her attitude towards her studies has been pretty lax. She's caused several scandals for the university and spends most of her time at the Computer Science Department... neglecting her medical studies..."
