Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 507

Kaylee shook her head, "Thanks for the offer, everyone. I'll treat you all to a meal some other time. Today, I need to spend time with my friend."

"Oh, look at you! Ever since you joined the Rose Design Team, you've changed so much. You used to be as sweet as a bunny, never saying no. Now, you can't even have a meal with us." One of the girls sneered.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Kaylee just smiled warmly and didn't say a word.

The team leader shot the girl a warning glance before handing Kaylee her phone, reminding her to stay safe on her way back to campus.

Grabbing her phone, Kaylee happily went off to find Flora.

"What's there to brag about? I don't get what the Rose Design Team sees in her... A freshman? What makes her so special?"

The girl who got warned earlier muttered bitterly, jealousy dripping from her words.

After having lunch with Kaylee, Connor arranged for a ride to take her back to campus, while he and Flora headed back to Shallow Bay.

They got back to Shallow Bay around three in the afternoon.

Connor had a mountain of work to tackle, so he got straight to it. Flora, on the other hand, curled up on a small couch, engrossed in her phone.

Jules sent her a message.

Jules: Flora, I'm coming back.

Flora: Oh.

Jules: Flora, can't you at least pretend to be a bit happy?!

Flora sighed and didn't reply.

Jules: Are you at school? I'll come see you after I land. Got something to tell you.

Flora lazily typed back: I'm with Connor.

Jules: Oh... Flora, my experiments are done, and I'm almost out of money. Since you're with Connor, how about asking him to sponsor me a bit? He's loaded! She knew it―he only called when he needed something!

And of course, it was about money again!

With a sigh, Flora transferred him fifty million and told him not to bother her and Connor anymore.

Setting her phone aside, Flora rested her chin in one hand, her eyes fixed on Connor, who was sitting at his desk.

He seemed to be in a video conference, wearing a Bluetooth headset, occasionally speaking, but mostly listening. "What's up?"

Her intense gaze made Connor look up, his voice deep and husky.

"You're handsome."

Flora blinked and said with a smile.

Connor: "...Ahem."

Flora had deliberately lowered her voice, but the headset's microphone was too good, and her playful tone was clearly heard by everyone on the call.

The executives: "..."

What a mess.

Even in a meeting, they had to witness this lovey-dovey act.

That night, Connor didn't push Flora too hard, knowing she had an early class the next day and needed to wake up early.

But the next day, she still woke up late.

And with the heavy traffic, she was definitely going to be late for class.

"Flora, class is about to start, where are you?!"

Cynthia kept sending frantic messages!

Flora glanced at the congested traffic ahead, sighed, and sent her a photo.

Cynthia: "..."

Cynthia: "Sis, do you know who's teaching today? It's Dr. Jules! He barely teaches twice a year, and if you miss his class, you'll fail!"

Today's morning class was with Jules?

Reading Cynthia's message, Flora blinked.

What's the rush then.

She turned to Connor, "Connor, let's go grab some breakfast instead."

Since they woke up late, breakfast was a rushed affair.

"Hm?" Connor looked at her, puzzled.

Flora showed him Cynthia's message.

After reading it, Connor laughed, "So, does that mean we can just skip class?"
