Chapter 347

Chapter 347 Love Confession

Linda was about to leave Lu Jinye’s office when he suddenly shot out, “One moment.” She turned around with a smile, knowing that he would never be idle. “What can I do for you, Mr. Lu?” “Look into the building across Mu Zhi’s workplace and what they do.”

Lu Jinye wore a scowl as he asked, while Linda immediately used her iPad to search for the company. “It is an office lot of an E-Commerce platform. Decently sized, but their warehouse took up almost an entire floor.”

“Purchase it.”

Without hesitation, Lu Jinye gave a simple two-worded order. NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

Linda froze for a moment. She contemplated whether to ask if he was serious, but upon thinking further, she nodded, turned around, and went to execute the task without delay.

It wasn’t until Linda left the room that a faint smile gradually surfaced on Lu Jinye’s face.

Once he had acquired the office lot across Mu Zhi’s workplace, he would have an excuse to visit Mu Zhi.

His rational mind told him that he needed to carry out the acquisition covertly.

But it turned out that the task’s execution was difficult, especially when the tasks had a direct impact on his emotions.

It took less than half a day before Lu Jinye received notification from Linda that the acquisition had been finalized.

He then announced to transfer some of his company’s staff to the newly-purchased lot.

“You can decide which ones to move over, as long as it doesn’t affect the company’s operation.” Added Lu Jinye.

“Got it.”

Linda was about to leave when Lu Jinye stopped her.

“I want to move over there too.”

Linda thought she had misheard at first. “What… Did you say?” She stuttered in amusement.

“Prepare an office for me, I’m moving there.”

Linda wavered, but it soon dawned on her that he did it for Mu Zhi. Thus, she obliged and left the office.

Following that was a series of restless preparation and the renovation of the new office.

Lu Jinye was known for his momentum-based decision-making style, hence his adaptability.

It was a fine afternoon when Mu Zhi and her colleagues went for lunch. They left their workplace only to see a fleet of container trucks parked across the street, which blocked most of the streets’ width.

The office supplies they used were top-ranked. There were plenty of sumptuous decorations being moved into the building across their workplace. Many passers-by stopped by just to watch the moving process.

A crowd surrounded the entrance with a murmur of discussion about the new tenant of the office lot.

At this moment, one of Mu Zhi’s colleagues gossiped, “They say that a prominent company is moving in across us. Did you see their renovation? That’s too lavish.”

“What’s so strange about that? Isn’t it common for companies to shut down their business and office lots to switch tenants?”

Mu Zhi was intrigued. She barely had work experiences, so she didn’t realize how odd these were.

Her colleague explained further, “We’re not anywhere near the CBD, so the area has never seen any big players of the industry.”

“Anyhow, it has nothing to do with me, so I won’t sweat it.”

Mu Zhi waggled her hand. She was about to walk away when her colleagues gasped excitedly.

“I heard that the owner is a fine-looking man… I know that we don’t have anything to do with the man, but it’s not bad that we get to see him every day…”

Mu Zhi glanced at the colleague helplessly and chuckled, “In that case, I hope you’ll eventually meet your true love in an office romance setting. We need to grab lunch now, stop dreaming in front of these boxes.”

Upon finishing her words, Mu Zhi dragged her colleague towards the lunch place.

The colleague was reluctant to leave.

Then, every time they went to lunch, Mu Zhi and her colleague would take a sneak peek at the company’s progress across the street. They must admit that the move was executed at an admirable efficiency. However, Mu Zhi was clueless all this while as to who the building would house.

Until one day, when Valentine’s Day was around the corner, Xinghao Media organized a roadshow by the entrance of their building.

It was a reality show which brought strangers on the street together to a blind date, in conjunction with the nearing Valentine’s Day.

Mu Zhi spent several days in a row preparing for the event. She could finally get a breath of fresh air while waiting for the recording to commence.

Alas, while everything was set in place, one of the female guests took a rain check at the last minute.

Everyone in the team burst into a flurry. The supervisor of the show was infuriated. Mu Zhi was looking to rest in the office when a colleague raced towards her, telling her to go to the scene. Mu Zhi was in charge of liaising with the guest.

The guest’s last-minute cancelation caught her off guard, so she hurried over to talk to the supervisor.

He glared at Mu Zhi furiously at the sight of her face, hurling the activity rundown on her and roaring in her face, “We’ve spent a great deal on the promotion, everyone is prepared, and there are less than ten minutes before the show begins. Now that we’re missing a female guest, what are we supposed to do? How does a fool like you get this job?”

“I’m terribly sorry… I didn’t see this coming. We’ve issued the deposit to book her time, I really didn’t see this coming…” Mu Zhi did not dare retaliate against the supervisor as she apologized profusely.

“How does saying sorry help at all? You ruined the entire event!”

Instead of finger-pointing at Mu Zhi, the supervisor figured that the issue had to be resolved as soon as possible. In the end, he pointed at Mu Zhi’s face, “You. Replace the guest.”

“What? No way…”

Mu Zhi hesitated at first, then became perturbed when the words struck her. She could not help but stare at the man suspiciously.

Although Xie Xiu had found out about her job, joining a blind dating show in public would blow his fuse.

“No way? We’re all getting screwed now, what is there to be afraid of? Take responsibility for your mistakes.”

The supervisor turned to bellow at the makeup artist, “Get over here! Find a dress for Mu Zhi and put some makeup on her.”

Mu Zhi thought about discussing further with the supervisor, but before she could get any words out, she had been dragged into the building to get changed.

Everyone was distressed at the shooting scene. Thus, without any choice, Mu Zhi could only comply.

After decking up and standing at the stage alongside other guests, Mu Zhi instantly attracted the attention of countless eyes on the streets.

She was unquestionably the most outstanding of the lot.

She had planned to stay closer to the edge to appear inconspicuous. But very quickly, passers-by started to form a crowd around her.

Mu Zhi became red in the face.

She was not confident enough to deal with such situations. All she could do was to keep her head lowered.

However, the lower her head went, the more curious the crowd was about her looks. In the end, before the reality show had even started, the patience of one of the male guests had worn out. He strode

towards Mu Zhi and offered her the flower in his hands.
