Chapter 294
Chapter 294
Early in the morning, Norma had the driver pick up Briana. After breakfast, Norma held Briana’s hand.
“Briana, you’ll stick with me today. I haven’t attended many parties in recent years, so I don’t know many socialites. You’ll introduce them to me later.”
Briana nodded, “Okay.”
Although the party had only started in the evening, the servants were already busy cleaning the Harmony Villa and preparing the ingredients.
Briana had nothing to do, so she went to the study, picked up a book, and read it in the gazebo in the garden.
Not long after I started watching, a shadow suddenly cast before my
eyes.
Briana lifted her head, saw it was Isaac, surprise flashed in her eyes.
“Cousin, when did you come?”
Isaac chuckled, sitting down across from her with a casual demeanor, “It’s been a while, grandma told me you were reading in the garden, so I came to find you.”
“Did my cousin have something to tell me?”
Isaac nodded, saying, “I understand the purpose of Grandma’s party, but I’m not interested in dating right now, so I’d like to ask Ms. Schneider for a favor.”

Briana pursed her lips, “What favor?”
“I hoped Ms. Schneider could persuade my grandmother. She has always liked you the most, she would definitely listen to you.”
Briana furrowed her brow, remaining silent for a few seconds before finally speaking, “I’m afraid I can’t help you with this.”
Isaac chuckled lightly, slowly saying, “Ms. Schneider should know better than me what it feels like to be with someone you don’t love. I don’t want to waste anyone’s time, nor do I want to put on a show in front of my grandmother.”
Briana’s grip on the book tightened unconsciously, her fingertips turning pale.
She was about to speak when a cold voice sounded from outside the pavilion. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“If you really didn’t like grandma’s arrangements, you should have talked to her yourself. What’s the meaning of making things difficult for my wife here?!”
Both of them turned their heads at the same time, only to see Maxim walking into the gazebo with a cold expression.
It was not until he sat down next to Briana that he coldly looked at Isaac, his eyes devoid of any warmth.
“Briana was shy and didn’t like talking to strangers. If there’s nothing else, you could leave now.”
Isaac chuckled, giving Briana a meaningful glance, and said with a smile, “Today, I have offended Briana, I hope Briana won’t mind.”
Briana’s expression was indifferent, “No.”

After Isaac left, Maxim turned to look at Briana, his eyes still radiating coldness.
“If he spoke to you again in the future, you should have acted as if you didn’t hear it.”
Briana frowned unconsciously, thinking that was too rude.
“Mr. Yoder, I haven’t forgiven you yet, please stay away from me.”
No sooner had the words left his mouth than his waist was grabbed.
“I just helped you out of a tight spot, can’t that make up for my previous mistakes?”
Their bodies were pressed tightly together, and Briana seemed to feel his body heat seeping through the fabric.
She pushed Maxim away abruptly, walked to the farthest spot from him and sat down. With a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, she began, “Don’t forget, Mr. Yoder, I was ridiculed by your cousin, and you
played quite a role in that.”
Even Isaac, who had left Bridenville for several years, knew that Maxim didn’t like him. It was easy to imagine what the other people in Bridenville thought of her.
Maxim
Seeing his silence, Briana stood up and looked at him, saying, “Nothing to say, huh? So whether or not I forgive you depends on your other actions.”
After speaking, Briana turned to leave.
She had only taken two steps when she was embraced from behind by Maxim.

He rested his chin on her shoulder, his warm breath tickling her ear. The sensation seemed to travel from her ear straight to her heart, causing Briana’s body to involuntarily stiffen.
“What would it take for you to calm down?”
Maxim’s seductive voice echoed in her ear, and after a few seconds of silence, Briana suddenly pushed him away, turning and retreating a few steps.
“Mr. Yoder, you should have figured out how to appease me on your own, instead of coming to ask me.”
Watching Briana’s retreating figure, Maxim’s eyes deepened, and he didn’t go after her.
Returning to the living room, Norma saw her and quickly said, “Briana, come over here.”
Briana walked over and sat down next to her, “Grandma, what’s Wrong?”
