Ex-Husband Goes Money Comes By Yvone Zabielski Chapter 257
Chapter 257 Ormand Finally Controls Viola
Max had attended major film festivals and walked on the red carpets. She even attended various banquets as a special guest.
However, no man had ever refused to let her take their arms.
This was a humiliation for her.
However, Max was just unhappy in her heart. She quickly smiled and said, "Yes. Don't worry, Mr. Hobson. I won't make Ms. McGraw unhappy."
Ormand nodded and stepped out of the car on his long legs.
Todd immediately got out of the car and went around to open the door for Max.
As soon as Ormand and Max appeared, they were the focus of attention, and the cameras around them kept clicking.
Max was very familiar with this kind of scene. The smile on her face was appropriate and noble. The two of them entered the hotel side by side, but they controlled the distance very well. They did not even touch each other's clothes.
Later, at the party, Max was indeed very well-behaved and kept her distance from Ormand.
Ormand relaxed his guard against Max.
Viola had already come before them.
But she didn't like to socialize, so she had been sitting in an inconspicuous corner with Jason and drinking.
Jason drank one glass of wine after another, his face filled with depression.
"What happened to you? Who made you unhappy?" Viola asked curiously.
"Ormand!" Jason pouted in anger.
"What?"
Viola was confused. "You haven't talked to him since you came to Salt Lake City, have you? How did he offend you?"
"He took advantage of the fact that I haven't reached the legal age to get married and got engaged to you. Damn it! I probably won't have a chance in my life to marry you!"
Viola chuckled and flicked his forehead with her finger.
"What are you thinking about? Even if I were not engaged to him, I would not like men younger than me."
Jason snorted, "Bullshit! You said before that you liked me a lot."
Viola held her forehead and told him frankly, "You brat! I take you as my friend rather than a lover. Don't think about me anymore. Otherwise, I can only stay away from you in the future. We can't even be friends anymore."
"No!"
Jason gulped down the red wine in his glass and comforted himself, "Although I don't have the chance to marry you, being your confidant is good."
Viola was amused by his thoughts and shook her head resignedly.
After sitting in a quiet corner for a long time, Viola didn't see Ormand, so she found an excuse to leave the seat. "I'm going to the restroom. I'll be back soon."
At the same time, by the fountain in the hotel garden.
Ormand and Max had just finished a round of social activities.
"Mr. Hobson, I still think it's better to call you Ormand. Can I?"
"As you please."
"Ormand, are you satisfied with my performance just now?" Max said coquettishly.
"Not bad," Ormand said, his cold expression unchanging.
These two words made Max smile like a happy child.
He meant that her performance was good.
Then he must be satisfied with her.
Ormand finally praised her. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Max's face was full of joy. "Then can you go to a quiet place with me and sit for a while? I'm a little tired after standing and talking for so long."
Ormand looked at her 4.7-inches high heels and agreed.
The two of them walked on the stone path in the garden.
The surroundings were quiet and secluded, and the lights were dim, blurring their backs.
Ormand walked without saying a word, his hands in his pockets. He looked elegant and proud.
As long as Max didn't speak, he wouldn't take the initiative to speak.
They walked slowly, and the atmosphere was a little strange.
Max pondered what to talk about. The stone path was uneven. She suddenly tripped and lost her balance.
"Ah!"
She subconsciously fell toward Ormand.
Ormand instinctively took a step back. Max didn't even touch the corner of his clothes.
Seeing that she was about to fall to the ground, Ormand reached out to help her.
"I was so scared!"
Max's face turned pale, and she immediately tightened her grip on his arm, wanting to lean against his chest.
Ormand's expression changed. Just as he was about to push Max away, he caught a glimpse of a person in a red dress standing a few feet away.
Viola put her hands together and stood there quietly. Her eyes were fixed on Ormand, full of sarcasm and coldness.
"Viola, listen to me."
Without waiting for him to finish speaking, Viola snorted coldly and turned to leave without looking back.
"Viola!"
Ormand felt a sharp pain in his heart because of the coldness in her eyes. He wanted to chase after her, but Max seemed to be extremely afraid. She grabbed his arm tightly and refused to let go of him.
"I seem to have sprained my ankle. It hurts!"
Ormand didn't care about Max's injury. He grabbed Max by the neck with his hand in a black leather glove, his eyes filled with hostility.
"You saw Viola a long time ago, so you pretended to fall toward me to make Viola understand, didn't you?"
Max's expression was pained, and her face was flushed. She panted as she coughed. "What do you mean? I don't understand. I sprained my ankle. If you don't believe me, you can check it to see if I lied to you."
"You'd better not fool me!"
Ormand let go of Max and was not in the mood to check if she was lying.
Viola was angry with him, and it was more important than anything else.
Ormand turned and wanted to chase after Viola, but Max grabbed his sleeve again.
She changed her soft and gentle demeanor.
Max said with a serious face, "You don't understand Viola at all. You tried your best to love her, but in the end, you will only be hurt deeply by her. She is willing to be with you now, but during this period, she probably hasn't said that she loves you once, right? Don't you understand?"
Ormand glared at Max and mercilessly flung her hand away, running after Viola.
Max lost her balance and was thrown to the ground. Her white dress was stained with mud.
She didn't care. Her eyes were fixed on Ormand in front of her and were flashing with excitement, and there was a bright smile on her charming face.
...
Viola was walking, while Ormand was running.
So when Viola was about to walk into the hall, Ormand stopped her.
"Viola, can you listen to my explanation?"
Viola glanced at him indifferently. Because Ormand's suit was touched by Max's hand, Viola withdrew her hands in disgust and wanted to bypass him to enter the hall.
Ormand knew that he had been touched by another woman and did not dare to touch Viola. He just stopped her from leaving.
"Viola."
The corners of his eyes were red, and his pleading voice was hoarse and soft.
Viola ignored his pleading gaze. She suppressed the surging anger in her heart and growled, "Get lost."
Ormand's heart ached from her fierceness, and he bit his lip.
At the entrance of the hall, he took off his suit coat and glove without hesitation. Then he threw them into the trash can.
His movements were quick.
His black silk shirt showed off his strong waist.
His strange actions attracted many eyes.
Ormand pretended not to see anything and picked Viola up.
This caused quite a few people to exclaim.
"What are you doing?"
"Do you want to die? Put me down!" Viola glared at him angrily.
Just as she was about to struggle, Ormand leaned close to her ear.
He whispered, "So many people are watching. Viola, don't forget our pact. Moreover, I have thrown away all the clothes that have been touched by another woman. I am very innocent. When we get back, I will explain it to you, okay?
"Be good. Don't move. If you fall from my hands, the stocks of our family businesses will fall miserably tomorrow."
Music understood the situation.
She secretly gritted her teeth and resisted the urge to pinch his ears, putting her arms around his neck.
Ormand knew that she was holding back her anger. His thin lips curved up in an evil smile. "Tomorrow, whether the stocks will fall or rise depends on you."
"What else do you want to do?" Viola sensed a hint of mischief from his words.
His smile broadened. "Make headlines with you and do what a fiancé should do."
