Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 375

Being genuinely livid this time, Mrs. York spouted the harshest words she had ever said in her life.

But then, Mrs. Harrington really crossed the line, daring to utter such words right in front of her, as if she were invisible. To have the usual small squabbles were one thing, but to audaciously make such a remark was another thing; it was like signing her own death warrant.

Quintessa looked at Mrs. York in shock. She thought she had seen Mrs. York's most cutting side at dinner last time, but who knew there was more to come?

Quintessa suddenly wanted to grab Mrs. York's hand, just like the way she held her mom's hand for comfort when she was a little girl.

Mrs. Harrington spun around furiously, "Cecilia Farley York, say that again."

Mrs. York lifted her chin, "Oh, well done. The snotty little brat who used to trail behind me is now ordering me around."

Mrs. Harrington's face turned beet-red with anger, "Cecilia, don't you bully me just because you can."

Mrs. York laughed mockingly, "My maiden name is Farley, and my son's last name is York; my family has influence and power, and yes, I am bullying you with it. What are you going to do about it? You always loved to compete with me, didn't you? Come on then, let's see what you've got!"

Seeing Quintessa gaping and looking up at her, Mrs. York sensed the unintentional dependency in her gaze; she felt that she had to step up, and she couldn't be the same as before.

She had always been the golden girl, never needing to please anyone, neither from her parental home nor her marital home.

Mrs. York had always been cautious, worried that people would accuse her of using her status to bully others, so she rarely ever brought up her family background.

But now, Mrs. York felt that it was actually quite satisfying to be able to use her status to bully!

Especially when she saw Mrs. Harrington's face turn as red as a liver, it felt-exhilarating!

Mrs. Harrington, trembling with rage, stammered, "You... you..."

Serena, seeing the tension in the room, started to cry, "Mom, my brother is still hurt, please stop fighting."

Mrs. Harrington clenched her fists and angrily declared, "We're moving to a new room immediately. This place is only fit for those despicable lower-class people."

Tyrone lazily retorted, "Huh, Mrs.

Harrington, why did your words sound so unpleasant to me? Who are you calling despicable? Who was it that cried and begged this 'despicable person' to help the Harrington family through tough

it now?"

Mrs. Harrington, with a headache from anger, gritted her teeth, "I wasn't talking about you."

Quintessa slowly said, "Then you mean me."

Mrs. Harrington, not able to hold back her disdain for Quintessa any longer, scoffed.

Quintessa smiled, "I'm not the first person you've insulted, and I won't be the last. Treally don't care. I've always had thick skin. Say what you want! I'm curious, how noble can a lady like Mrs. Harrington, who got her looks from Botox injections, really be?"

Mrs. Harrington, unable to maintain her composure, opened her mouth to retort but was stopped by Serena, "Mom, please don't talk. We've all been friends for so many years, why argue like this? Calm down, please."

Wiping away her tears, Serena stood

up, "Cecilia, y, Quinn, I'm sorry. My mom didn't mean it. She's just worried because my brother is in the hospital. Quinn, no matter what, my brother got injured trying to save you. I'm begging you."
