Chapter 906 Tit for Tat
Chapter 906 Tit for Tat
Connor's frowned and seemed not so happy seeing the presence of this man.
"Well, look who we have here." Connor stared at the man with murky eyes and seemed gloomy of his
mood.
Maximilian could tell from that the attitude of Connor that this man was by no means an ordinary
person.
"Please tell me something about the man, Cassius." Maximilian asked with arms crossed.
Cassius then turned to him and answered, "Sure, Mr. Lee. He is a man from W City, where he owns
supreme social status and profound financial resources."
The name of W City seemed to remind Maximilian of something. He remembered that W City was a Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
city near by H city, and enjoyed comparatively better social development relative to the city he lived in.
However, this place was also said to be the symbol of chaos and underworlds, and even a man of
remarkable power and influence would not dare to get involved ever.
Maximilian had never thought that a single auction as such could even draw the attention of a big shot
like this one from W City. While he chose to keep away from the affairs between others and cared
about nothing except his Hardy Ganoderma.
"It is out of what I had expected that you would come here, Rowen." Connor said with a meaning smile
spread on his face.
Rowen grinned and answered, "It's honor to see you again, Boss Davies. You truly deserve the name
of the pillar of this city as always."
Connor, out of the corner of her eyes, glanced at Chief Carr and Maximilian and frowned, "Stop playing
stupid jokes on me, Rowen. Please take your seat." He knew that Rowen was trying to provoke
dissension between him and the others including Chief Carr and Maximilian in H city.
Being annoyed inside to meet the failure of his conspiracy, Rowen sat down, looked at Maximilian up
and down and sneered, "Well, Boss Davies, could you please introduce this friend of yours to me?"
Though he was seen calm and confident from the expression of his face, Connor, staring at Rowen
silently, was at the moment dumbed and at a loss inside to explain anything to conceal the identity of
Maximilian. He knew what the sort of people Rowen was, and telling him the identity of Maximilian
would definitely bring trouble and chaos to his friend.
"No way, Rowen. Leave him alone." Connor answered in a severe tone.
It was obvious to the people in presence that Connor was on the side of Maximilian and trying to
protect him from the malignity of Rowen, which made them also curious about the identity of Maximilian
and the relationship between him and Connor.
Rowen turned to Maximilian, looking at him viciously and grinning, "Since our dear Boss Davies is not
going to do me this favour, boy, how about I take the first step to get us two acquainted?"
Maximilian was staring at him silently as before, neither giving him any response nor making any
further movements.
Seeing that Maximilian ignored his words, Rowen was a little annoyed and veined his forehead. He
restrained the impulsiveness within and reached out one of his hand, "There is a saying that everything
starts with a hand shake. Nice to meet you, boy."
The expression in his eyes was flicking with unspeakable malignity, and all of this was also seen in the
eyes of Maximilian. He could feel that it was by no means just a simple, easy hand-shaking.
He looked down at the hand of Rowen, and found that a sharp silver needle stuck out of the inner side
of the ring on his finger.
Everything was clear now, and his choice would be to either bear stabbing pain and shake hands with
Rowen, or figure out another way to keep himself from getting hurt.
Rowen, lifting the corner of his lips and grinning viciously, was imagining the expression on
Maximilian's face when the needle pierced through his skin.
However, it was out of what he had expected that Maximilian just smiled, held his hand and then
loosened as if nothing had exactly happened. Rowen was stunned, and wondering if this man was not
afraid of pain or if he was just pretending to be fine. He then focused on the hand of Maximilian, and
surprisingly found that there was not even a single bloody hole in it.
Rowen raised his head with eyes open wide and mouth spread out of astonishment, "It could not be!
What have you done?'Maximilian, smiling as usual, pointed at the hand of Rowen. Rowen looked down
again, and shook to find that the needle was bended at an exaggerated angle.
The fact was that Maximilian had concentrated part of his internal force on his hand before shaking
hands with Rowen, which the silver needle failed to fight against.
Connor had witnessed everything that happened. The hand-shaking, ring on his finger, and needle
sticking out of it were all the same as what Rowen had done to him years before.
