Chapter 838 Suspicion
Chapter 838 Suspicion
"No need for that, because we already have our suspect standing in front. Go and compare his
fingerprints with those on the branch." Pearson said, pointing at Maximilian.
The situation and outcome clearly went against Maximilian. As the man of Pearson brought a device
and forced Maximilian to press his fingerprints on it, it stunned everyone that his fingerprints were
exactly identical to those on the branch.
The atmosphere was thick with tension. Both Pearson and Jude became cautious and pointed their
guns at Maximilian, especially Pearson, who was trembling and feeling lucky to survive after talking
with the murderer.
For Jude, she now thought that what Pearson had said made sense to some extent. She looked
at Maximilian, silently and tensely, and thought that she was cheated by the man standing in front,
"How dare you, liar!"
"Wait, there is a misunderstanding between us, and I could explain it. Just give me some time."
Said Maximilian, feeling that he should have just kept away from this shit. Though he was not the one
who started everything, it was still not easy to make things clear.
Pearson turned to Pearson and said proudly, "I told you that he was not right!" While he got no
compliment except a look of disgust and irritation from Jude.
"You have the right to remain silent, sir. Now, you need to come with us back to the police station, and
you will be released provided that your original suspicion is cleared. " Said Jude in a tone speaking to a
man who committed a crime.
"Alright, I understand, madam." Maximilian answered with a bitter smile. However, he was not in fear
because the truth was that he did nothing wrong.
Jude was a little surprised by Maximilian's obedience since she had thought that this man would not
just surrender so easily. Pearson looked at Maximilian and grinned evilly, "Good boy. Now, get your ass
in the car!"
Maximilian said nothing and got into the car obediently. Grace, standing not far away and seeing all
that happened, didn't know what to do and felt guilty for causing such a situation.
In the police station, Maximilian was sitting face-to-face with Jude, and Jude asked in a slowly but
serious tone, "Now, sir , we're sincerely asking you to tell us the truth. And you would regret it if you
dared to lie again."
Maximilian had no choice but to tell her his experience how he had saved Grace. Looking at the eyes
of Maximilian, Jude could feel his sincerity and honesty, which made her think that possibly he is
innocent.
However, everything needed proof, and it would be quite unprofessional for her to believe a suspect's
words without any practical evidence. Pearson squinted at Maximilian and sneered, "I bet that you're
absolutely lying again! Only a fool would believe that you took down a man with a single branch, which
can only be seen in some sort of stupid movie!"
Pearson's words reminded Jude of this fragile testimony. It was impossible for her to believe that
someone could ever throw a branch and stick it in a man's shoulder from a long distance.
It was natural for Maximilian that these ordinary people chose not to believe him. He spread his hands
and said helplessly, "I have told you guys the truth, and it is totally up to you to believe it or not."
"Then how about you trying that on me right now? That would be helpful to prove your statement."
Answered Maximilian with disdain.
"As you wish." Maximilian said with a cold smile and picked up a gel pen from the table, throwing it right
towards Pearson. Pearson was a little stunned, subconsciously embracing her head with hands and
bowing down his body.
Afterwards, he stood up, looked around and laughed, "Well, it seems that nothing happened to me." It
was a total nonsense to him that he would never be hurt by a single gel pen.
However, while he looked at the position where Jude was tremblingly pointing at with fingers, he was
stunned by that gel pen with more than half of its body stuck into the wall on his back.
Pearson rubbed his eyes, looked again at the pen and was kind of scared by what he saw, feeling that
it was lucky for him to survive that shit. On the other hand, Jude thought over the scenes that she had
just seen, turned to Maximilian and wondered what if the man was truly telling the truth.
"I'm warning you, you have just assaulted a police officer!" Pearson yelled with a sullen look on his
face.
Maximilian spread his hands again and said, "I'm just doing what the dear police officer told me to do."
Hearing that, Pearson shouted with anger, "How dare you even talk back!" Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Maximilian yawned and answered slowly, "Now, Are you guys going to trust my statements or not?"
Pearson gritted his teeth and stared at Maximilian, thinking that this man was making him disgrace in
front of Miss. Jude.
"Miss, Jude, I think we'd better send him to jail for a year or some more since this man is no doubt
extremely dangerous!" Pearson said to Jude, being about to revenge Maximilian in the name of public
interests.
Jude, after a while of hesitation, shook her head and said, "We can't do this since he has not hurt
anyone here."
Pearson was dumbed, and then said hastily, "But he was going to hurt me with that pen!"
"You know that it is not the truth, don't you?" Maximilian sneered, leaving Pearson standing and being
ashamed into anger.
