Chapter 60
Unice’s PoV
Sleeping soundly, I awoke because I heard my phone alarm, and when I turned to my left side, I was surprised to see Ace in front of me. I slowly got up, puzzled as to why he didn’t wake up when my phone alarm went off. I made a stern face and laughed because he didn’t wake up.
“You thought I was not awake now?” When he suddenly spoke, it caught me off guard.
“I know you’ll wake up when you hear my phone’s alarm,” I said as he opened his eyes and looked at me.
“Today is the day we’re going to be busy,” Ace reminded. I understand what he means; I’m going to Edward’s company today and telling him Ace is giving up, but it’s all part of his plan.
“Yes, I’m aware of that. I’m going to prepare breakfast for us first before we proceed with our plan,” I explained to Ace as I got out of bed and put on my slippers. I stretch my arm, and I’m carrying my phone right now. I exited my room and went to the kitchen, where I was wearing my kitchen apron and preparing what we would eat for the day.
I open the refrigerator. I took four eggs and prepared the cooking pan with a metal spatula. As I heated the pan, I sliced three pieces of butter and placed them on the pan until they melted. I cracked two eggs and began scrambling them before starting to cook.
I will make an omelet for both of us for breakfast today. After cooking the mixed two egg scramble, I put ketchup on it and shaped it into a heart. Ace came over and noticed my cooking.
“Is this for me?” he asks as I prepare our meal, and I nod.
“I appreciate the breakfast; I’ll wait for you so we can eat together.” Ace assured me, and after I finished mine, I made a hot chocolate drink for myself and a coffee for Ace.
After a few minutes of preparing the coffee and hot chocolate, I placed it on the table and sat down. We started eating, and Ace kept looking at me while he was eating.
“Why are you smiling at me like that?” I interrogate him while he sips his coffee.
“I just want to look at you while I’m eating this food you’ve prepared for me,” Ace teased, and I laughed as I finished my breakfast and drank my warm hot chocolate.
“Can you do the dishes for me while I take a shower? If that’s okay with you,” I asked him a favor, and he nodded.
“I’ll do that right away; go prepare yourself.” Ace said, and I nodded. I walk over to my room after leaving the kitchen, and when I arrive in my room, I open the door.
I went inside and went to my closet to choose some clothes; I decided on an everyday casual outfit for today. I’ll be wearing a white long-sleeved shirt and fitted jeans.
I exited my room, went to the bathroom, and left my phone on top of the drawer. I took off my clothes and started showering because I didn’t have time to wash in the bathtub.
After I finished showering, I dried myself and my hair. After about an hour, I exited the bathroom wearing fitted jeans and long white sleeves. I’m going to put on my shoes first, so I went back into my room and got my rubber shoes and socks.
I fixed my hair first, then picked up my bag; I exited my room, closing the door behind me, and Ace was waiting for me. He tapped my shoulder as I returned his smile.
“Be careful on your way there,” Ace said.
“Don’t be concerned about me. I’m going to take a taxi there,” I assured him, and he gave me some money.
I stepped outside of Ace Mansion. Ace was still staring at me when I looked behind me. I know he’s worried, but I’m going to be brave. I opened the door when I noticed a taxi stopped in front of me.
I told the taxi driver where I was going; I opened my phone and scrolled through social media. I arrived after a few hours due to traffic on the road and saw the large company. I paid the taxi driver and got out of the car; I started walking there when a security guard stopped me.
“Hello, ma’am. Do you have any appointment here?” I was questioned by security.
“I’d like to meet the CEO of this company; please introduce me as Unice Venixe,” I informed him, and he was perplexed.
He uses his earpiece to call someone, which I believe is Edward; he looks at me and allows me to enter.
“Right this way, ma’am,” the security offered, and I nodded, following him into the elevator.
When we arrived on the 15th floor and exited the elevator, I noticed many employees staring at me, possibly because they didn’t recognize me. When the security guard opened the door to the office, I saw Edward putting down his paperwork.
“Welcome! Are you here to join my company?” As Edward stood up from his seat.
“I apologize for coming here without an appointment, but this is very important.” I boasted to him, and he smirked.
“I know you want to talk to me, so sit down first,” Edward added as I sat on the sofa in his office.
“Is it related to Ace?” Edward was curious.
“Yes, it’s about him, and he’s going to give up,” I lied to him, and he was furious after he sat down.
“Really? I know he’s the type of person who can’t seem to let go.” Edward elaborated
“I know that, but he said he no longer wants to exact revenge because of me; he changed when I entered his life,” I explained, and he laughed.
“Eventually, he will change once he meets someone who will change him,” Edward said, surprising me.
“Do you think he’ll change after you murder his parents?” I question him, and he gives me a severe look. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
“I kill his parents because I despise them, and I despise my sister-in-law because she is a nuisance to me.” Edward stood up from his seat to clarify.
“If you have a grudge against Ace’s mother, you should not kill her son just because you despise your sister-in-law.” I took issue with him.
“I have thought about it many times, but if Ace continues to murder my men, I will haunt him down and do whatever it takes,” Edward responded, standing up from my seat.
“Ace wants to meet you tonight and talk to you personally. I understand you don’t trust me, but you should trust your family. Ace is your niece’s.” I included.
“What time is it?” he inquires.
“8 p. m. tonight,” I said, and he nodded.
“I’m not bringing my men; it’s just the two of us; you can leave now.” Edward clarified and returned to his desk to review his paperwork.
“Thank you; I apologize for interrupting your work,” I said to him as I exited the office.
I’m not sure why he expects Ace to change. Does Edward wish for Ace to forget what happened to his family? If this is the case, Ace and Edward must forgive each other.
But I know Ace will be upset if I tell him this; he doesn’t accept Edward as his uncle and wants him dead. I started walking toward the elevator. Once inside, I pushed the lower ground button, which led to the company’s entrance and exit.
I started walking to find a taxi when I noticed a motorcycle far from Edward’s company. I was surprised to see Ace waving at me. When I approach him, he just smiles.
“What exactly are you doing here? You’re well aware of the danger! He has a lot of security in his company, and who knows if one of them is one of his men!” Ace smiled and handed me the extra helmet.
“Get in, and let’s go home.” Ace responded, and I put on the helmet before hopping on his sports motorcycle and hugging his waist.
“Hold on tight,” Ace said as he started the engine and began to drive.
