Chapter 165
Hector POV
This wasn't wholly a surprise, but I did expect Than rather than Zane to knock on my gate.
There had been eyes on us for a few days now, and I was already prepared for one of them to make
contact.
I take a car to the gates with some of my warriors joining me, I wanted to be away from Kaia for as little as possible.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
As we reach the pack gate, the arrogant prick was smoking a cigarette as he stood in a tight circle created by my guards.
They didn't trust his unannounced arrival here, and neither did I.
As soon as I arrived they backed off him, splitting to clear a path for me to enter.
Riley had joined me having proved himself under the training of Edmund during my absence.
you want?"
"What do I snarl at him...
"Our men heard you had returned..." Zane smirks as he puts his cigarette out on the ground and stamping it out with his boot.
"Heard...or seen, I know you've had eyes on my pack."
"Only friendly eyes...they mean no harm."
"At the moment." I grunt back at him.
"I'm surprised it's you here and not your Alpha?"
"Yes well, he is preoccupied at the moment..."
Things haven't exactly gone his way have they, he's probably wallowing in his own self pity party. Than never dealt with rejection, with losing. Where it spurned me on to achieve more, to be more....he just sulked and retreated. "She isn't here you know, but you can tell him that I want him to sign these..." Riley passes me an envelope from behind which I thrust into Zane's chest.
I had these drawn up the day after Kaia returned with me.
"What are they?" He asks as he places them firmly in his hand.
"Divorce papers."
"You can't be serious.."
"Oh I am, and if he knows what is good for his pack and people, he will sign them. Make no mistake Zane, any loose favourable connections I may have kept intact between our packs has completely gone now.
This is my pack, these are my people, and Kaia is my family now...she is my mate and I will protect what is mine."
I don't give him the chance to ask any further questions. My time visiting him at the gates served two purposes; one, he knows Alora didn't return with us for certain and two, he's saved me having the divorce papers delivered to the Amber Desert pack grounds. "Alpha?" Riley asks for orders as I enter back into the car.
"Escort him off the lands, make sure he returns to the Amber Desert pack. Make sure those papers are delivered." At least Zane will be able to get past Medea without her checking the documents.
This had the potential to play out negatively if she got involved. Kala still remained his wife and their Luna, they could still claim rights on her under werewolf council law.
I needed those papers to be signed.
"And of their trackers?"
"Keep eyes on them and push them back."
"Alpha." He nods in confirmation.
"And Riley?"
"Yes Alpha?"
"I mean it...they hold no special treatment...if they take one step over our borders we attack."
"Understood."
I had been conflicted in the past but not anymore. It may be the pack I should have led, the pack my father should have had the balls to give me.
But I've shown them my true strength by creating a new and far better pack. And I will defend it, no matter what.
