Chapter 32
"Not sure. But continue digging for more information about her studying overseas. And get me the footage of what happened at the jewelry shop while I was in the private VIP room." Alex ordered. "Copy Boss. Is that all?" Derek asked
Alex creased his brows as he thought of something, then nodded his head, "Mm. You can go then."
"Yes Boss!" Derek raised his hand and saluted like a military soldier before quickly leaving the room.
Alex remained calm on the surface but deep down he was dumbfounded by what his assistant just did. Did Derek think he was a general? He'll never understand this side from his assistant of fifteen years. There are times Derek is serious and dangerous and there are times he acts like a completely different person.
Alex set the documents in his hands down and opened one of the drawers and took out a childish pink colored wallet and stared at it.
For some odd reason, his mind kept drifting to Rose's face and her voice, especially her familiar mesmerizing eyes. Even more strange was, he didn't find her disgusting like all the other women. And it's the same way he felt for that woman who had saved him three years ago.
There was an unknown feeling he's never felt before creeping its way into his heart without him knowing.

The Wills were a respectable family in the community, and every time they threw a party, they would surely have influential and reputable guests.
The party was opulent and extravagant. There was a band playing, people were laughing and dancing; expensive liquor flowed, and the Will household took on a carnival atmosphere.
In the corner stood several good-looking young gentlemen, with champagne in their hands. They were sons of wealthy families, with plenty of dollars to spend and fancy cars to ride about, enrolled in elite schools, and all were successful entrepreneurs themselves. Despite the party being lively and fun, a few of the guests were extremely excited and nervous at the same time and that was because of the fact that Alexander king had graced his presence at the party.
In the farthest part of the party where the loud music was much less, Alex sat down on one of the chairs like the emperor he was. Even though he was in the corner, he still stood out in the group of people.
From where he was sitting, he could still see everything that was going on in the party but that wasn't his interest. The only reason why he had come here was because this was the social gathering one of his business partners had invited him to.
He had only graced the people who came over to greet him with his signature nod, which seemed to be the highest form of acknowledgment he knew.

attractive aura emanating from him. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
He was the epitome of handsomeness, with his dark obsidian black eyes that only seemed to hold a cold gaze. Though his stoic expression never seemed tédeave his perfectly chiseled face with his sexy lips arranging in a thin line, he could still have a long stretch of women from all social status
reeling after him.
He had a powerful presence like a medieval emperor who owned the whole world. In a real sense, he actually was known as the 'emperor' of the business world. He had the entire business world wrapped around in his hands.
"Mr. King, I'm so happy that you accepted my invitation and attended the party." A short fat man in his late forties with a very big belly and dressed in a gray suit walked up to where Alex was sitting. He was other than Chairman Roy who had invited Alex to the party. Although he wasn't the one who was throwing the party, he was glad that Alex came, because he had bragged to his friends that he had invited Alex to
the party and seeing that he really came would elevate his status
among his friends.
However, he wasn't aware that Alex didn't attend this party because of him and Alex wasn't planning to burst his bubbles.
He stretched his hand out for a handshake with a grin on his face but Instead a bodyguard standing behind Alex stepped forward to block him.
Understanding the meaning of the gesture, Chairman Roy retracted his hand still maintaining his smile on his face like nothing had happened before taking his seat.
"Mr. King, I know you're a busy man and this isn't a proper place to discuss business matters. I was going to send an invite for us to meet at a more comfortable place but since you came, I can't think of another to use this opportunity. I promise, I won't waste your time and go straight to the point." Chairman Roy rambled, but when he got no response from Alex, he realized that he should say what he wanted to say.
"May I ask why Mr. King wants to
terminate the contract with Lexi Corps. We have been really doing well and just@ecently signed the contract." Chairman Roy asked. Even though he maintained a friendly expression on his face, he he was literally shaking internally. He was worried when he received notice from the King conglomerate that they wanted to breach the contract between his company. He can't afford to lose the contract because Lexi Corps had benefited a lot from the contract in just the short time that the contract was signed.
Because of the news of Lexi Corps successfully signing a contract with King conglomerate, there has been a lot of investment from other people and companies. There was a belief that whichever company can sign a contract with the King conglomerate is a company that has a lot of worth and investors would swamp that company and that was the same that was happening to Lexi Corps. "Do you really not know why I want the contract to be terminated?" Alex spoke in his usual cold voice.
"No," Chairman Roy shook his head.
Alex raised his hand and gestured to Derek who was sitting not far from him.
