Black Rose: Revenge Of The Callous Heiress

Chapter 13

Rose creased her brow for a few minutes when she heard Paige. What does she mean 'due time'? Confused at what she was saying, Rose was about to ask Paige to explain what she was talking about. However, she suddenly recalled something. That's right, in her previous life, she had returned back to the country one month from now. However, due to the fact that she was reborn, she had rushed to come back earlier than everyone expected. It was no wonder she felt that the maids welcoming her earlier was weird because she hadn't witnessed such a welcome in the past even when she arrived at the time everyone expected. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

"It was a last minute decision. Besides, where is my father and stepmother? I haven't seen my stepmother around since I came. Isn't she aware of my arrival?" Rose asked, she was sure that her stepmother would have come running to meet her once she heard she was around and acting all nice to her. But the mansion seems quiet for some reason.

"Well, the Master is away on a business trip and the madam has also gone with her friends. Both your younger siblings are still at school as well." Paige replied.

"I see." Rose nodded her head. When they got to her bedroom door, Rose collected her backpack from the maid and opened the door about to enter when Paige stopped her.

"Did you need anything else, young Miss?" She asked.

"No, I'm good. If I need anything I will call the maids. You don't have to worry about me and get back to your work, Aunty." Rose flashed her a small smile before entering the room and closed the door behind her before Paige could ask any more questions.

Paige stared at the closed door, feeling conflicted at the moment. The way Rose acted and speak is way mature than her age. The Rose she knew was not always this confident in speaking, in fact she could hardly raise her head up to look at her directly in the face, this was a very big change.

"Tell the chefs to prepare a delicious meal for the Young Miss." Paige instructed the maid who had carried Rose's bag before walking away.

Rose let out a sigh after closing the door behind her. She stared at her familiar bedroom and just like Paige had said, the room was clean.

"As expected, everything are still in their rightful place." Rose mumbled as she walked to the king size bed and dropped her backpack on the bed before taking a seat as well.

After a few minutes of just sitting down on the bed, Rose decided to unpack her backpack and remove out the things she had brought home with her.

"Where is my other wallet?" Rose asked no one in particular as she dig into her back, unable to find her other wallet.

"Shit! It must have fallen down at the airport when I bumped into that rude man." She mumbled in a low voice when she remembered her dropping the bag at the airport.

"Luckily, I have nothing important in there except my ID card. How annoying!"

A scowl appeared on her face when the thought of having to get another ID came into her mind. She couldn't go back to the airport to look for a wallet so the only choice she has is to get a new one. Putting the thought of her lost wallet aside she continued to unpack her backpack until she came across a broken picture frame of her mother.

"No, why did it break!" Rose quickly removed the picture out if her bag and stared at the broken frame, this is one of her best pictures of her mother. The woman in the picture looked similar to Rose with the same gray eyes, but unlike Rose who had black hair, the woman had ginger colored hair and wore a wicked and sinister smile on her face.

Ruby Walker, the only child and daughter of the Walker family. Apart from her family status and reputation, Ruby had her own reputation and was known as the red-headed witch of California.

Ruby had a personality that was different from other heiress from other family. She was a sly, cunning woman that isn't afraid to speak out her mind regardless of how the person she was talking to would feel. She was simply a villainess that no one wanted to cross path with and it was a miracle that such a woman with that kind of personality was accepted as the daughter-in-law of the Gray household.

Rose stared at her mother's picture with a blank expression. Unlike her mother who was famous for her personalities, she was nothing like her mother in her previous life. She was the opposite of her mother's personality but look where it got her to. She was too causious of people branding her to inherited the same personality as her mother, so she tried to not walk in her mother's shoes and end up listening to the words of lies from the people that murder her mother.

Ruby might not be a very good person, but she was really a nice and caring woman to her family and the people she was close to. She didn't deserve to die in an ungraceful manner.

"What a shame in the past. If only I wasn't given the chance to return back to the time you were alive it would have been much fun. But I will do everything you couldn't do to bastards, mother. Rest well." Rose mumbled softly, staring at the picture one last time before opening the drawer by the bedside table and keep the picture gently there. She planned to have the frame changed later.

After she was done unpacking her bag, Rose decided lay her back on the bed, staring up at the light in the ceiling to rest a bit. However, she didn't know how tired she was from the long flight and actually ended up dozing off to sleep.
