Billionaire’s Pampered Wife

Chapter 723 I Feel Safe Being By Your Side

“You…” Jasper uttered a single word. “Ah…” Jasper frowned and was very anxious, “him… then.”

Stella didn’t understand what he was saying. She looked at his eyes and saw the panic and pain in them.

She explained, “Those who have been in a coma for a long time might suffer from speech difficulties. Some don’t even remember their family. It’ll be as though they have amnesia. Don’t worry, we’ll take things slowly.”

After hearing Stella’s words, Jasper relaxed and stared at her fondly.

Skye flashed a look at the doctors, hinting to give Stella and Jasper some privacy. He picked up the baby from her arms and said,” I’ll let you two talk for a while.”

Then, all of them left the room.

Stella got up and placed a pillow behind Jasper.

She remembered that when they first met, a clothes rack had crashed on him when he tried to save her. Back then, she had placed a pillow behind him just like this.

“Don’t worry, you’ve been in a coma for a year and a half, so your legs won’t feel the same. I’ll be there with you while you get physiotherapy. You’ll be better in no time,” Stella said with a smile and held his hand.

“I’m really happy to see you awake. When you were asleep, I talked to you every day. Did you hear what I said?” Stella asked.

“Wrote too, ah,” He still couldn’t talk properly. He sighed and shook his head.

Stella smiled. “There’s no rush. Are you hungry now? Our son kept crying earlier, so I brought him outside. There’s a big grassland outside. Surprisingly, the grass is still green even though it’s winter. Our baby climbed all over the grass. It was also his first time outside, and it looks like he has a thing for plucking grass.”

She didn’t like to talk much in the past. However, now that Jasper was awake, she had so much to tell him.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

Jasper just nodded.

“Does that mean that you’re hungry?” Stella stood up.

Jasper took her hand and pulled her down to his side, then kissed her gently on the lips.

Stella smiled.

This was her Jasper, so strong and overbearing, yet never fail to make people feel warm and sweet in their hearts.

As though he had suddenly thought of something, Jasper quickly let her go.

Stella pecked him once more on the lips. “I brushed your teeth every day. We have two sons now, three, including Ralph. When you’re better, let’s try for a girl, okay?”

“O-ay,” Jasper made a sound.

She guessed that he was saying okay.

“Get some rest. All the books on the table are the ones I read to you every day. Why don’t you take a look at them? Take a nap if you feel tired. I’m going to go whip up some food. Oh right, they might need to do more tests on you.”

Jasper could only nod a couple more times in reply.

Standing up, Stella marched out of the room jovially.

Skye was standing outside the room with the baby in his arms. All of them were happy for Stella.

“Please take care of him for me. I’m going to cook,” Stella said as she made her way to the kitchen.

She wanted his first meal to be something she made.

Although she had been feeding Jasper with liquids from all sorts of vegetables and fruits, he had just recovered from a serious illness, so he could only afford to eat something plain.

She chopped up some pumpkin until they were mushy, then added it to the vegetable stock in the pot. She then added some cayenne pepper and nutmeg to make it more aromatic and tastier.

She also prepared some carbonara pasta for the doctors.

When she was finally done, she carried the bowl to Jasper’s room, only to find that he was missing.

“Where’s Jasper?” Stella asked the doctor.

“He went to do some tests. He left when you were in the kitchen, so he should be back soon.”

“Okay,” Stella also wanted to ask Skye about Jasper’s overall situation. She wanted to know if he had fully recovered and if they still needed to seek help from the secret research team, which was turning out to be a challenge.

She put the bowl on the table and went to look for Skye.

The doctors were still running some tests on Jasper. For some reason, she felt unsettled. They were taking a really long time to run those tests on him, and it worried her.

After waiting for ten minutes, the door swung open.

Stella saw that Jasper was no longer lying in bed. They were pushing him in a wheelchair as he still hadn’t gained the full function of his legs.

She stepped up to push Jasper out. From the corner of her eyes, she saw the serious expression on all the doctors’ faces as they read his charts.

She didn’t want Jasper to overhear them, so she pushed him out first. She told him happily, “I made some soup for you today. This whole week may be a pain to you as you still can’t eat solids. After this week, I’ll start adding more meat to your meals.”

Jasper grabbed onto her hand.

This made Stella stop in her tracks.

“Ah… Ah,” He opened his mouth to speak, but the words that came out weren’t what he had in mind.

“It’s fine, let’s eat first. After that, I’ll give you a pen and paper so that you could write your thoughts down. Worse comes to worst, we could learn sign language together,” Stella comforted him.

Jasper sighed again.

Stella pushed him into the ward. A doctor was playing with her baby.

The baby sat on Stella’s bed, holding a baby bottle with milk inside. When he saw Stella, he stretched out his arms to ask for a hug.

Stella carried the little baby to Jasper and said to him, “This is your Daddy. Say ‘Daddy’.”

“Da-da, da-da,” the baby murmured, revealing his two tiny front teeth. Anyone who saw this wouldn’t hesitate to squeeze his tiny cheeks, it was adorable.

A smile flashed across Jasper’s face. His smile was very faint, and only the corners of his mouth were lifted slightly.

Stella looked at Jasper and smiled. This was her Jasper. It was rare to see him smile, but when he did, it was beautiful.

“Baby, why don’t you play on the bed for a while? Let your Mummy and Daddy eat first, then we’ll nap with you, alright?” Stella then put the baby on the bed. The doctor immediately went to play with him.

Jasper rolled himself over to the table by the bed. Stella knew that he didn’t want to trouble her any further.

She held his hand and said, “Don’t worry. You had just woken up, and you’ll get used to it soon. I’d normally sleep with our son after having my meal. Once we’re awake, I’d usually do physiotherapy with you. Let’s take it slow.”

Jasper gazed at Stella intently. This all felt very difficult to him because he couldn’t tell her what he was thinking.

Stella could sense the anxiety in his eyes. She picked up the bowl and said with a smile, “We have been through so much, even life and death situations. Now that everybody’s alive, that’s good enough. Anything is better than death. Truthfully, I was content with being by your side even though you were unconscious. It felt very safe and fulfilling to be beside you every day. Jasper, do you understand what I’m saying?”

Jasper looked at her deeply and kept silent.

Stella smiled. “Look at us now, we’re happy. You have me, I have you, and we have our kids.”

Jasper nodded in agreement. He was much calmer than before, but there were too many unspoken words in his eyes. Even though he couldn’t speak, his eyes drew her in.

As Stella was feeding him, Bellamy arrived.

Jasper was slightly shocked when he saw him. He was very confused, and he frowned.

Looking at his expression, Stella assumed that he didn’t know about Bellamy’s existence. She explained, “He’s your twin brother.”
