Back in Time: Unshackling From Love (Mikayla Davidson)

Chapter 296

Mikayla stopped pissing him off when she saw his weak look. “Don’t get up if you’re not feeling well. Lay back to your bed.”

“Come help me,” Jerome said.

She didn’t refuse. She then went to help him back onto the bed. There was a laptop turned on next to his bed. He was probably working in bed

“I’m thirsty,” he added.

Considering that he was a patient, she walked outside to get him some water. However, all of the water here was kept in the refrigerator. There was no room temperature water, let alone warm water.

Mikayla had no choice but to boil some water with a kettle. The suite had a small kitchen but was immaculately clean. It appeared no one had used it.

Jerome had called her before and asked her how to make gruel. But evidently, he didn’t cook at all.

After the water boiled, she poured him a glass of it. When she brought it into the room, she found that he was busy working on the laptop.

She complained, “You can’t finish your work all at once. Why don’t you take a good rest?”

Jerome glanced at Mikayla. He didn’t answer her, instead turning back to his laptop.

She was too lazy to persuade him and started searching for the restaurants in the surrounding area. Since she was here, she had to try the local cuisine.

She wasn’t as picky as Jerome.

Mikayla was looking at her phone when she heard Jerome’s request. “I want to eat gruel.”

She gazed up at him. He put aside his laptop and held a water glass expressionlessly.

She couldn’t help but sneer. “Mr. Miller, I only promised Grandma to check on you. I’m not here to serve you as a nanny. You can make your meals. Anyway, I’ve already sent the recipe to your phone.”

He was picky and even unwilling to cook on his own. She wasn’t going to indulge him.

Jerome choked and didn’t know what to say. Of course, he didn’t ask Mikayla to serve him. He just wanted to confirm if she still cared about him.

But he didn’t expect Mikayla, who used to make meals for him every day when he got home, to refuse to

cook gruel for him.

He couldn’t describe his feelings. He felt angry and disappointed but mostly felt incomprehensible.

Mikayla soon found a restaurant with positive online reviews.

Chapte 296

After changing her clothes, she was about to go out. However, she noticed Jerome putting on his coat, obviously wanting to go out with her.

She stared at him suspiciously. “Aren’t you ill? You dislike foreign food. Why are you going to join me?”

Jerome gazed at Mikayla. She put on a decent, well–fitting dress and wore a long windbreaker that cinched her waist. She appeared youthful and beautiful.

He resisted the temptation to clutch her waist, saying coldly, “It’s better than starving to death.”

After saying that, he opened the door before her.

Mikayla followed and asked, “What’s the emergency number here? If you faint, I can call them in time.”

Jerome was rendered speechless.

When she walked out of the hotel lobby, she drew numerous people’s attention.
