Chapter 221

Chapter 221

“Mikayla, Ms. Reign, I’ve got to go now. My dad’s asking for me to dine with him. I’ll see you guys around!” Connor added.

“Sure.” Celeste nodded.

Mikayla and Celeste’s free time in the afternoon passed in a blur as they spent their time basking in the warmth of the hot springs and taking pictures.

Mikayla visited the restaurant during dinner while Celeste excused herself to pick up Nolan’s call.

inner was held in the resort’s fancy dinner hall.

The dinner NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.

Although it was another buffet, the delicacies served were much more lavish than the barbeque and snacks she had at the hot spring.

The buffet table was laden with scallops, sea urchins, lobsters, and a myriad of other delicacies.

hungrily once they set The people were famished after having fun for the entire day. Their eyes gleamed hungrily eyes on the buffet.

Some of the younger folk couldn’t be bothered with utensils, and they began devouring the lobsters with

their bare hands.

Mikayla’s stomach growled at the sight of this.

Her unwavering passion for food was likely due to her past experience of getting starved in the mental hospital.

She usually ate alone at home. Even if Jerome was present, the way he indulged his food was too prim and proper to the extent that it was unsettling for her.

Now, her newfound appetite increased greatly as she watched everyone eat with such gusto.

Mikayla selected some of her favorite delicacies, and began to feast on them.

“No one’s gonna take them from you. Why the rush?” Jerome appeared out of nowhere while she was busy stuffing her face.

He was dressed in his usual shirt with his sleeves rolled up. Three buttons on his collar were left undone. revealing his toned chest.

“Admiring the view, aren’t you? Swallow your food first. Jerome thought Mikayla looked like a hamster

with her cheeks stuffed full.

His fingers twitched with the urge to tuck a few wild strands of her hair behind her ear.

Mikayla jerked back and glared at him.

“How I eat is none of your concern.” Her words were muffled from her stuffed mouth, and she didn’t

sound as distant as she intended.

Unfazed, Jerome sat down across from her.

That’s Celeste’s seat.” She reminded him.

He stared at her, and suddenly said, “Something urgent came up at the branch, so I’ve been dealing with it through a video conference.”

Was he trying to explain where he went?

Mikayla responded absently, still immersed in her feast.

“Kylie’s one of our most diligent employees. As her boss, I can’t just fire her unreasonably,” he added.

“Why are you telling me this?” She glanced up at him.

Jerome’s gaze was fixated on her bare, yet beautiful face.

He replied calmly, “Connor called me and said that you were upset because of what happened in the

afternoon.”

“That’s not true.” She denied. “I’ve told you, your relationship with her has nothing to do with me. I won’t

even be bothered if you married her right after our divorce.”

This wasn’t the first time Mikayla said this.

Jerome struggled to maintain his composure and asked, “When did I say I’m going to marry her after our

divorce?”

Mikayla was stunned. Was he implying that he wasn’t going to marry Kylie?

Did things take a different turn because Mikayla quitted her petulant acts?

She no longer acted as a catalyst for Jerome and Kylie’s relationship, so he had yet to fall for Kylie.

How pathetic.

Mikayla was obsessed with him for eight years, yet she only turned out to be a catalyst relationship.

heir

She retorted, “I remember that, when we were at Kylie’s place, you didn’t deny when I asked if you’re going to marry her after we divorced.”
